Question about McCulloch Garden

1 Answer

I have a McC Power Mac 380. I have owned it since it was new and it doesn't have a lot of hours on it. I thought I emptied and used up the gas since it's last use, but now with fresh gas and new fuel filter it will only start if I prime the carb with some fuel. After several pulls it runs great for about 4 seconds and dies. I have sprayed carb cleaner thru the fuel system when I changed the fuel filter, but it didn't help. What can I do to get my saw running again?

Where is the release to the blade on a 380 powermac

An IPL for a Power Mac 380 can be found here:
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/MCC/11-600141F-Power-MAC-380AS-%282-Bar-Bolt%29-10%2F84-to-02%2F86-IPL-218024-R1/139.11-600141F-Power-MAC-380AS-%282-Bar-Bolt%29-10%2F84-to-02%2F86-IPL-218024-R1.1.59.1.html
on this IPL (may not be your saw)
Item 1 (2 each on this saw) are bar retaining nuts (loosen to adjust bar and chain; remove nuts and clutch cover (chain brake released (brake pulled aft then released)) to remove bar).
Item 140 is the tension adjuster, loosen it some before attempting to remove the bar.
Remove the chain; then remove the bar.
use this to find the correct IPL for your saw.
McCulloch Manuals
Illustrated Parts Lists: (IPLs) are fairly simple. On the underside of McCulloch saws is a black and yellow tag; the upper number (“Power Mac 320” 600021H) is the model, below it a serial number (11-18555). These 2 numbers are combined to create an IPL number (“Power Mac 320” IPL number = 11-600021H). The IPL number can be used to find the correct IPL for every McCulloch parts supplier I’ve found. If the parts supplier only list part numbers the proper IPL is the source for the part number.
Operator’s Manuals: are much more difficult. I’ve dialed this number many times (Contact Us - All McCulloch Products 1 (800) 521-8559) and have yet to get a satisfactory response. Please try this! If enough of us try they will fix it!
Find "YourIPLNumber" here:

Need to remove & replace primer bulb on mcculloch mac 3516

There are 4 different IPLs for this saw. Fuel detail are on multiple illustrations.
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/MCC/22-600035-18-Mac-3516-IPL-211318-01/139.22-600035-18-Mac-3516-IPL-211318-01.1.59.1.html
A helpful video, a few of my suggestions, and a schematic follow:
Fuel Line Replacement by SmallEng.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrXpU70Hmi0
  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, an output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.
Take lots of notes and a few digital photographs to help with reassembly.

I am trying to fix an 04 alero. it cranks but does not start. i thought it was a fuel pump or presure regulator but it has 53lbs of presure at start up and 57lbs at running. the only way it will start is...

This sounds like it may be as simple as cleaning the water or gunk out of the gas tank which is what I always do 1st because it's easy and inexpensive.
Gas that has sat for an extended period will lose igniting power and will not fire easily that's why we have to add winterize to our lawn mowers' gas when storing for the winter.
Fuel Systems always gets contaminated with carbon buildup, gunk, grime, water and/or bottom junk like rust and this will cause the problems your having!
Fill the tank with High Test, Add some dry gas and a good fuel system cleaner or 2 or 3 and this should dissolve all the gunk and clean the injectors and fuel system!
Use a can or two of starter fluid to get it going and idling on its' own!
Read & follow the cans' instructions carefully.
If this cures the problem never let your gas tank get below 1/4 and especially never run it to empty as this is when the gunk and/or water will enter the system!

My RM 2652 when dry camping it uses the 2 batteries overnight ?

OPERATING MODES
AUTO MODE
Press the AUTO/MANUAL mode selector button (2) to the DOWN position. The AUTO mode indicator lamp
(A) will illuminate.
When operating in the AUTO mode, the AUTO mode indicator lamp (A) will illuminate. The control system
will automatically select between AC and GAS operation with AC having priority over GAS. If the control
system is operating on AC energy and it then becomes unavailable, the system will automatically switch to
GAS. As soon as AC becomes available again the control will switch back to AC operation.
If 120 volts AC is not available, the control system will automatically switch to GAS operation. Within 45
seconds the burner should be ignited and operating normally. If unsuccessful, the CHECK indicator lamp (B)
will illuminate.
To restart an ignition attempt with the CHECK lamp illuminated or to clear (turn off) the CHECK lamp, press
the main power ON/OFF button to the OFF and then to the ON position. The control system will attempt a
new 45 second ignition sequence.
On the initial refrigerator start-up on gas (120 volts AC is not available), it may take longer than 45 seconds
to allow air to be purged from the gas line. If the refrigerator has not been used for a long time or the LP tanks
have just been refilled, air may be trapped in the supply lines. To purge the air from the lines may require
resetting the main power ON/OFF button (1) three of four times. If repeated attempts fail to start the LP gas
operation, check to make sure that the LP gas supply tanks are not empty and all manual shutoff valves in
the lines are open.
NOTE: DO NOT continue to reset GAS operation if the CHECK indicator lamp continues to be illuminated
after 3 or 4 tries.

Mac Mini 1.42 combo just shut off while I was using it.

Hi, Sorry you are having problems,
Unfortunately, the MacMini has very poor ventilation due to it's small size. Chances are the Mac just overheated. Did you hear the Fan blowing as hard and as fast as it could?
It's a self preservation thing...
The Mac should boot up properly if you let it cool down, say an hour or so...
If that is not the case, it might have overheated to the point of burning out...
How old is this machine ? If it is still under warranty, Apple will repair it.
Also be sure there is lots of room around the macmini to allow as much airflow as possible.
Well, let us know how it goes..

A buzzing sound

The cables always a usual suspect, but if you are using a tube mic, wich have their own power supply, you don't use phantom power and it can damage the mics power supply, so take phantom power off that mic and if that doesn't cure the buzz then I would change the cable next.
