Looked at a schematic and the drive roller screws onto the drive shaft, I don't see where is a locknut on the outside but the shaft is threaded, it moght be left hand thread. If there are 2 holes in the gear see if you can find a spanner wrench from a grinder and secure the roller and loosen the gear.

    Thanks Rowdy - I looked closely at the schematic too, and suspected left hand thread.
    Appears the shaft is bent, and on top of that the sand paper has abraded its way through the aluminum chassis. Could be RIP for this hand tool - taking it into a local specialist to weigh cost of repair vs replacement.

How to remove a drive roller on a black & decker ds321 type 2

Just finished the exact thing, so here's the read deal:

- The screws on the drive roller ARE reverse thread.
- My old roller got too hot and separated from it's metal core, leaving the core tightly screwed onto the drive shaft. If you can unscrew it off of there (unscrew = clockwise!), just screw the new one back on. If not, you are going to have to take the sucker apart, but it's not too bad if you follow this, now that I did it the hard way:
-- You need to remove the belt plate assembly. It's only 4 screws: an obvious one recessed between the drive roller and the red belt-tensioner lever (see picture, white arrow), then two on the other side next to the black belt straightener knob (see 2nd picture, black arrows), right next to each other. Finally, you have to unscrew the black belt straightener knob (2nd picture, red arrow) all the way out so it will release the belt holding plate assembly, which should then slide out.
From here, you can hold the drive shaft firmly while you reverse-thread unscrew the old drive roller (or it's remaining pieces) and put on the new one. I had to cut mine off with a Dremmel tool it was on there so tight!). BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE COG THREADS ON THE DRIVE SHAFT; hold it with slip-lock pliers and a heavy rag or something to prevent damage.

Good luck!

That is probably the belt. Open up the bottom screws and take a look. The cat or dog hair usually gets stuck in the ends of the rollers and stops the belt from effectively pushing the roller. You may find that the belt is still on the drive and the roller. If you do just clean out the roller.

I dont have a problem I just need to know what product I need to clean the rubber rollers on a weekly basis

Using liquids & chemicalsmay damage the rubber rollers or harden them. It is not at all necessary to clean the rollers on weekly basis. Instead you may clean them once a month with a soft, lint free cloth damped in luke warm water to remove any dust. Rubbing the rollers excessively may damage the rollers.
Also, keep the printer in a clean dust free environment and keep the printer covered if not in use for a long period of time.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Printer pulls paper to the side and jams when

You would need to open the printer and find the stuck paper in there

However other issues may be the problem:

If you got angry one day and ripped the paper from the printer out, you may have also ripped off some roller pins on one side or that the side where the roller pins are has hardeded faster than the other side. You would need to go to and buy a bottle of rubber rejuvinator so you can loosen those rubber rolling pins.

2070 printer shows red, flashing 'paper' lcd when there is paper in the tray. I have done the usual, checking tray, removing and restoring toner cartridge etc etc. I have tried a manual feed as this...

  1. Remove left cover (where the USB connection is located);
  2. Remove big black gear with a spring on it (you may need to unscrew the PCB that partially covers it);
  3. There is a clutch that sticks to the rubber pad behind this gear. You may put a piece of scotch tape towards to a rubber pad, so the plastic from clutch mechanism would'n stick anymore.

My DS321 belt sander had the large drive roller(and belt)came off on the first extended use. Looking at an IPB no thrust washers were found either.

I would recommend going to and typing in your model number and on the next page find the type number for the tool. I took a guess and found 2 thrust washers for the DS321. Let me know if you need more assistance and I will try and help

Samsung ML-2510 paper feed problem - taking page up and in

I just finished fixing my ml-2510 with the identical problem. you can take the pick up rubber and its housing off without removing the shaft. after taking off the front panel and taking out the upper paper tray and the toner you have lots of room to get your hands in there (make sure it's unplugged before you start). two plastic side supports hold the rubber housing in. lift the tab on one and slide it to the side. the housing will now come out . take note of the positioning of all these parts before taking them apart. I sometimes use a digital camera for this purpose. the housing snaps apart and the rubber band slides off. I turned it inside out and put everything back together. works great now (for another year I hope). It's not difficult, it took me about 30 minutes, but be gentle with these plastic parts. I needed a small flat head screw driver and a good lamp. the easiest way is to stand the printer up on its back and reach down inside the hole with the lamp set up over top. good luck.hope this helps.
