Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My daughter had been playing her R4 card and wanted to get on the internet which said that it had updates. After the updates she could not play her R4 card and it gave and error message that reads"...

Hi Hudson,

This problem is likely because the latest Nintendo based firmware doesn't actually support old R4 and fake R4i cards, only very specific R4i cards support it (namely the official R4i 3DS). You can probably swap your R4i card for a newer card like the Acekard 2i, Supercard DSTWO, Cyclo DS iEvolution, or frankly any of a number of cards that will work on the new DSi XL and 3DS consoles. I would personally recommend the Supercard DSTWO, though, I use it myself. It also has GBA emulation built-in which is kind of awesome if you want to play older games. The Acekard 2i is cheaper, but doesn't have the GBA functionality.

I'm not sure where you're based but if you're in the US, use "dsmagazine" as a voucher (I found this on an online DS news site) for DSCardWorld.com, they're authorised retailers of the Acekard and Supercard - I think also a few others. NDS-gear.com is probably better if you live in the Europe or in the UK though since they have cheaper shipping there. They still stock authentic cards so you should be all right either way.

Good luck, and please kindly upvote my answer if you've found it useful! :-)

My nintendo has got a problem for a few months now. when turn on the power button, it has given an error messagge "an error has occurred. press and hold the power button to turn the system off....

If the following error message appeared in your DSi or DSI XL: "An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the system off...", It means that your Nintendo has been updated (by the Internet) to the version 1.4.2 (or 1.4.3) or you bought it updated. In this case your DSi XL or DSi doesn't work with any flashcard in the market.

If you don't have an updated flashcard, the solution requieres both "updating the kernel of your flashcard" and also "patching it". I hope it helps you.

My DSI comes up with An error has occurred...........when I try to start my Acekard 2. What do I need to do

Download 1.4 update from acekard.com (downloads)
Transfer to root menu of SD card
When transferred, put in 'Somebody elses' DS or Dsi (which HAS NOT been updated)
Then click on the update file.
Agree to update 'click start button on DS)
when 100% done, take out and use in your Dsi, which it should now take!!!
Hope this helps
Big Al.

I just bought a new r4 and after almost a month of goood use i updated my system to the newest system than one day an error occured whiule opening my r4 games and found it saying An error has occured....

Hey Farooga,

The newest Nintendo update (1.4.1 or 1.4.2) blocks most flash cards on the DSi and DSi XL consoles so it's quite likely you've fallen victim to this. Check out DSCardWorld.com's blog post about it here:

http://www.dscardworld.com/blog/2010/09/24/dsi-1-4-1-firmware-fixes-for-acekard-2i-ezflash-vi-m3i-zero/

You can probably buy a card that works with the 1.4.1 update like the Acekard 2i, EZFlash Vi or M3i Zero. However, make sure you only buy the real one as fake/clone cards can't be updated when Nintendo releases a new firmware (it makes them cheaper to produce that way, which is why they don't do it). I recommend grabbing them from DSCardWorld.com itself or nds-gear.com if you're in Canada or Europe, since their international shipping rates are a bit cheaper.

Good luck!

When I insert my R4i card for DSi and select start a message keeps being displayed saying "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi...

A System Date Error is a problem with the firmware. There is more information at the blog here as well as a link to the system date error fix! I think you can avoid a lot of problems like that by getting an Acekard . It's worked perfectly for me for months now :).

When I insert my R4i card for DSi and select start

What firmware is your DSi using? If you recently updated to v1.4 then it will prevent your R4i from working. Luckily hackers have released their own firmware to fix this problem. Try updating your firmware

Problem whit open my acekard2i whit dsi an error has occured

Your acekard is blocked by dsi due to nintendo latest updates. You will have to reformat your micro sd using panasonic SDFormatter and install at the root the latest firmware AKAIO download from http://www.acekard.com/news.php#48 and the latest updates firmware fix just released 8/17/09 from mediafire ak2ifw_update_14.rar (3.05 MB). Your root should contain these files __aio, ak2ifw_update_14_DSi, ak2ifw_update_14_DSL, akmenu4.nds, readme_AKAIO. Now take you card and update it with an nintendo ds lite or phat by inseting the card and when you see the file update click on it and it will be updated and work again in your dsi. I just experienced this and the updates work if you know how to apply them. Good luck!!! Danny phantom icon appears instead of A2K

Dsi r4i error message

According to the website for R4i SDHC the new system update for the DSI will not allow any cards to be used. R4i will only work on 1.3 version of the system software...To verify check the bottom right hand corner of the top screen in system settings...
