Laptop will not run while plug into the electrical system

Hello,

as i said my laptop (Tron t45) does not work while plug into the electrical system, and also it doesn t want to charge the battery...otherwise if you remove the battery and charge it in another laptop of the same brand , and then reinsert it back, it will work just fine till the battery runs out...

Worst case is you need a another motherboard because the power supply unit and charging unit are on the motherboard. Then again it could be the DC power jack on the motherboard is loose and needs replacing. The website below is a link to a ebay site that sells these power jacks.
http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Thinkpad-T30-T30p-DC-power-jack_W0QQitemZ200216009749QQihZ010QQcategoryZ158847QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

Also is an ebay site for T30 motherboards.
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=t30+motherboard

If your good with tools you can replace these parts yourself. Below is the IBM website where you can download the service manual in pdf.format and fix it yourself without taking it to a computer repair shop.

If this helps, Please leave a positive rating.
Thanks,
Ray

My pc wont continue booting because of usb overload

what makes you think its usb overload ?

Check your computer's power cable and the power cables to any devices connected to the computer. Make sure all cables are firmly plugged into electrical outlets and into the computer and other devices. If you have an extra power cable for your computer, swap it in to see if your computer's power cable is the problem. Remove your computer's battery, if it is a laptop, and connect the computer to a electrical outlet to see if it will start up. Sometimes a discharged battery will prevent a laptop from powering up. If your laptop still won't power up, remove the power cable, replace the battery and try to run the computer off battery power. Unplug your computer and plug a lamp or radio into the same electrical outlet and see if that device works.
If the lamp or radio doesn't work, the outlet is the problem. Unplug your computer and open your computer's case, if it is a desktop system. Look for loose cables, cards and connections and attach them firmly. Blow out any dust with a can of compressed air. Also, check your computer's memory chips to make sure they are all plugged in and seated properly. Close the case once you are done and plug in the computer. Disconnect any USB devices connected to your computer and try to power up the system. Sometimes a USB device not connected properly will stop a computer system from powering on. Disconnect any new devices recently added to your system. Sometimes new devices will conflict with other hardware within your computer and cause an overload on your computer's power supply. Disconnect any other devices connected to your computer such as the keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer or scanner and plug your computer into a electrical outlet by itself. Check to see if the computer works. If does work, shut it down and connect just one device, such as the monitor. Turn on the computer and monitor and see if everything works. Continue connecting devices until you find the one that is stopping your entire system from powering up. Hope it helps.

Dell latitude e6400 fan not spinning

Is the laptop running hot? Sometimes the power saving mode in the BIOS will shut off the fan to conserve power when the processor isn't in danger of overheating. Try getting into the BIOS and playing with the fan and power saving settings to verify that the fan actually works as installed in your system. Otherwise, if you know that the fan works and you have it plugged into the system board correctly, there must be an electrical malfunction internally on the laptop and there is no way to troubleshoot further unless you know a lot about circuitry.

On a 2001 bayliner 2455 some of my electrical doesn't work on shore power

Do the lights or stereo work without shore power? If they don't that you have a dead battery. They are likely part of the 12 volt system and the shore power only charges the battery that runs them.

My laptop will work fine for about 20 minutes then all programs will stop responding but the mouse will still move. I tried a system restore but it said there was an error.

Hello
Are you using battery power only when this happens?
If so try keeping laptop plugged in.

More likley a heat issue.Check that fan is turning and free from dirt or dust, can be cleaned with a can of air,can get this at your local staples or best buy store.

Next possibility,Run the disc cleanup program and the disc defragment program.May take some time to do this.

last ,run a virus scan. Also if you have your install disc, boot from it and run the repair option when prompted.
Hope this helps.
Thank you

Hello. I can help you. As you indicate the problem could be the computer itself, the battery, the charging system, or the outlet you are using to plug into.

That said, begin by shutting the computer down and removing the battery for two minutes. That will reset some parameters and may solve your problem.

While you are waiting the two minutes, plug something else into that outlet, say a lamp just to be sure there is power there. If there is no power then go to your electrical panel and check the fuse or circuit breaker, which ever you have.

Now plug the computer in, still leaving the battery out and turn it on. if it operates that way unplug it again and reinstall the battery.

If the computer works on direct electricity but not on battery you could consider buying a new battery.

Regards, Joe.
