Totally rethread your machine, your top threading is wrong or thread is tangled. Sometimes the needle is bent or has a burr, use a new needle.

Thread keeps bunching on the bottom of the material when I sew. Have a Singer Futura 920

Generally bunching underneath is related to the top tension. Check your tensions - you might have to fiddle around a bit to get it right

I have a pfaff 2040 tiptronic and the bobbin thread keeps bunching up and stopping the machine

Hello,
Here are a couple of solutions to try.

* Re-thread your machine, it may be threaded incorrectly.

* Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.

Note: When you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

Hope this helps.

Top tension about 4 or 5, make sure the bobbin turns anti clockwise, make sure you only use a mercerised thread no thicker than a number 40 and the bobbin thread should pull through with slight resistence only.

Thread bunching on model singer 2157C

According to everything I've researched, when this happens it's because there is no tension. Check & make sure it's threaded properly. If it's still bunching underneath, then there may be something wrong inside the machine - even though you adjust the tension, it may not really be happening inside. You'll have to take it apart or service it.

Try a different bobbin. Look for one that is a little narrower. I had the same problem and changing to a narrower bobbin fixed it.
