Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional
If the data is still occupying space but is hidden, try this,
1. open notepad
2. type in "attrib -r -s -h /s /d" without the quotes.
3. click on [file] menu on the notepad and click on [save].
4. on the dialog box that appears save as unhide.bat and select save as type [all files].
5. Save the file.
Browse to your pendrive and copy the file in it(*DO NOT create a folder and put it in it wont work)
6. Double click on the file (unhide.bat)
7.Your folders should become visible.
If you formated your drive you can recover your data by use of recovery software like one on this site http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm and choose FAT.
