Question about Canon NP 6650II Copier

E531 error code

Does anyone know what this code is for? I think the stapler jammed, but I took care of it yet I'm getting this error code now.

Did you remove the jamed staple? Try to disconnect the finisher and power up just the copier it self. Once, warmed up, try to turn it off and reconnect the finisher again and turn the power on and see if the code is gone. Did you also try to leave the staples out and see what happens. Make sure the stapler can find HP. It could be a number things... Go simple first..

If the thermistor has a short circuit, the indication in service mode
(COPIER>DISPLAY>ANALOG) will be as follows from the start: FIXC=250°C
for the main thermistor; FIX-E=310°C for the sub thermistor.

Error codes from E000 to E003 can be in some cases reseted from service mode: PROCEDURE:

Turn off and on.

Error code E000002-0000


Hi,
dispite the error, you should be able to enter the service mode.
Procedure for service mode is:
- press * ( additional functions - user mode )
- press 2
- press 8
- press * ( additional functions - user mode )

Then choose COPIER, then under FUNCTION screen is CLEAR.

But you only can try to clear the error like E000, E001, E002 and E003.

The problem in canon 6050


this error from sorter/stapler unit if this problem is repeated
disconnect the sorter and use copy tray,sorter must be serviced

Main Cause The alignment plate home position sensor (PI6) is faulty. The alignment
motor (M3) is faulty. The finisher controller PCB is faulty.
Mode of
Detection
0001 The alignment plate does not leave home position when the alignment
motor has been driven for 2 secs.
0002 The alignment plate does not return to home position when the
alignment motor has been driven for 2 secs.
E531
Main Cause The stapler home position detecting switch (MS7) is faulty. The stapler motor
(M6) is faulty. The finisher controller PCB is faulty.

Check your stapler. If you removed a jam from the sorter you may have accidentally moved the stapler so it is not sitting at a 45 degree angle when you open the front door of the sorter. There's a little lever you can push to swivel the stapler, however don't try to force it. You may have to pry up the plastic lock that is under the stapler with a small screwdriver. Sometimes the stapler assy has to partially removed (slid to the front) of the sorter to be able to see what you're doing.
