Washer has water in it and wont drain when setting to drain and spin and doesnt lock

    theres no code which is strange but it wont drain the water

The machine will not spin unless the water is drained first and the lid is locked. Check to make sure that the drain hose is clear and the pump is working. You posted your problem under Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT and this machine has a provision for error codes when a fault is detected. Indicate any fault code and explicitly state the exact model number of the machine for further and specific troubleshooting and repair advice.

    I regret to tell you that this sounds like either the machine/motor control or the display module is malfunctioning. Remove the three hex-head mounting screws from the rear of the console then lift the console off the cabinet. Reseat every wire harness connections on the machine/motor control.

    You can perform a diagnostic test to check the operation of the user interface assembly, pump, and the lid lock. Make sure the washer is in standby mode, i.e., plugged in with all indicators off, or with only the Clothes Clean or Done indicator on. Select and remember any one button, except POWER, START, and STOP, and follow this using the same button: press and hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press and hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press and hold for 3 seconds then release.

    All indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with 88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining two-digit display if the test mode has been entered successfully. Press the same button within 5 seconds and a single beep occurs and the two-digit display shows one of the following console ID#s: 06, 08, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 60, 61, 62 for 3 seconds, then displays 00 and the Add A Garment indicator LED flashes. If entry into Manual Diagnostic mode is successful, but none of the console ID#s above are displayed, replace the user interface assembly.

    Press and release the CLEAN WASHER or DRAIN & SPIN button to turn on the recirculation pump. Press and release the same button to turn off the recirculation pump. Press again and release the button to turn on the drain pump. Press and release again to turn off the drain pump.

    Select CLEAN WASHER or DRAIN & SPIN if your machine uses a cycle selector then press Start to turn on and off the recirculation pump and the drain pump.

    Open the lid and the Clothes Clean or Done status indicator turns off. Closing the lid should cause the same indicator to turn on. If not, the door switch is not working.

    While the door is closed, press and release the 2nd RINSE or EXTRA RINSE button. The lid should lock and the lid lock indicator turns on. Press the same button and the lid should unlock and the lid lock indicator turns off. If not, the lid lock is not functioning.

check the pump for socks or anything that dont belong but put your hand on it while its in spin/drain and see if pump is even running

It won't drain If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns
It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

What brand is this? If it a whirlpool or kenmore (or roper, estate) It is you lid switch. A very common problem but is cheap and easy to fix. Get me the model number and i can give you the part number for the switch.

The door wont open . I have tried to put it on for a cycle and you can here the the water for around 5 seconds then it stops and does nothing.


Check and make sure your pump or filter is not clogged, then next I would suspect you have a faulty door lock mechanism

The door will remained locked while draining water. If during installation the washer was plugged in and turned on without water hoses attached, the washer may attempt to drain for 8 minutes before the door unlocks. Let the washer run until the door unlocks. Do not turn off the washer or unplug the washer.

If water remains in the washer after the final spin, then the door will not unlock. Select Drain/Spin or Spin Only to remove any remaining water from the washer. Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light on?

If the Add A Garment light is on, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed once. Pressing the Start button will restart the washer at the same point where it left off in the cycle.

First thing is to remove the 2 screws from the console, they may be hidden in the front or bacl of console. After removing screws, lightly push the base of the console towards the front of the washer and pick up. This will expose your lid switch connection. Using a jumper wire, jump out the black and white wires then try advancing your washer into spin/drain. The culprit will usually be the lid switch assy.

If it is draining the water then the motor is running. ou most likely have a broken motor coupler between the motor and gearcase.

Remove the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet and flip the console back.
Remove the two clips that hold the cabinet to the rear panel of the washer and unplug the lid switch harness. The cabinet will tilt forward and slide off.
Remove the clips holding the water pump and move it to the side.
Unplug the wires from the motor and remove the clips holding it.
You will see the motor coupler.
Make sure you can turn the gearcase shaft with a pair of pliers so it is not locked up.
Post back with the complete model number from the washer if you need further help.

LTF2140E Front loader washer


My Frigidaire front loader washer model LTF2140E doesnt want to drain the water when set to wash (heavy-normal-quick selectors). It washes put thats it. I have to switch the selector to drain/spin then rinse/spin cycle to finish the load. I checked the drain hose for any clogs....everything is clear. Any suggestions? Also,iIs2.gif their any reset buttons for this type of washer?

no thats two different problems. The rubber piece (boot) forms a seal to prevent the water from leaking out, that should be replaced. Water might have leaked and ruined the pump. At the end of all cycles is there still water in the tub? If so your pump is either clogged or has gone bad, and thats why the washer wont go into extract.
