Don't have manual and phone shows "SENT" and ext #?
I tried to call someone and they were on the phone, busy. So I tried to hit MESSAGE to leave one, but nothing happened. Then when I hang up the phone, the display screen shows "SENT" and the person's ext # I just tried to leave a message with... how do I get that "SENT" message to go away? Or did I leave a message without knowing it, and when that extension checks their messages, my message will disappear?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Start by dialing 500 on the intercom. If that gets you into the voice mail system, then you can dial *710x 500 # where x is 4 for No Answer and 5 is Busy/No Answer call forwarding. The number of rings before the forward is controlled by *713yy where yy is a time in seconds. Each ring cycle is about 6 seconds, so 24 would be a good number.
Leaving a message on your own phone? Dialing 500 gets you into your personal mailbox as an owner. Dialing #8 and your extension gets you into the VM system as a caller. (or it might be #6, I don't have my VM online today)
Of course, if you have an ESVM instead of the TVx system, then the procedure is entirely different.
Small business 4 line phones are generally workhorses and are easy to setup and use. I recommend them for many clients specifically because they are reliable regular phones. The benefits of these for small business are:
Inexpensive – you can buy them at most office supply stores, on line or used at Ebay
Ease of setup – basic plug & play. Plug it into the wall and it will work. If you need to get an adaptor it’s at Radio Shack, not special ordered. You don’t need a technician to install them if your office has been wired for the lines.
Works on regular dial tone – no need to have extra bandwidth or special adaptors
Ease of use – most importantly you don’t want to have to learn or teach someone how to answer the phone. You won’t have to call a technician to make changes to the programming.
I suggest not getting phones with voice mail built in. If the lines are busy your customer will not be able to leave a message. Combine a 4 line phone system in the office with a voice mail to email service outside the office and your customers will be able to reach you or leave a message. When you are running your business you don’t want to worry about the phone. You want it to ring and have a clear conversation with your customer. If you have trouble hearing them or you get disconnected all the features won’t matter. If your office has only a few people and 2 to 8 phone lines a 4 line phone may be a great option.
I looked at the manual for this phone and there is no indicator that will work with a phone company voice mail. Here is the link http://www.manualsonline.com/mdownloads/9918a1f6-b60a-6214-4190-378efa0f8de1.pdf. I would suggest changing your AT&T voice mail to a Voice Mail to Email service like All Call Technologies. Your messages are sent to your email as MP3 audio attachments that you listen to on your computer. This way even if your lines are busy you can listen to your messages.
The phone has a FWD/DND button. Is it lit? Press it and read what the display says. If you don't have any destination, then you need to dial a new forward code. That would be *710x where 4 is no answer and 5 is busy no answer (you get to chose) plus the VM extension and #.
If your VM is 165 and you want to forward no answer calls, you would dial *7104165#.
This is a very common problem with the Message waiting light, it can be used to turn on other msg waiting lights on other phones, or used to call back the voicemail after a message has been left in your mailbox. What you need to do is cancel the message waiting light, the code is Intercom + #409, then you will hear a studder dial tone, do that code from both phones (ext 11 and ext 24) and it should solve your problem. I would recommend after using the code, follow up with leaving a message in each phones mailbox to turn the light back on and see if then when you press it, it will take you to your mailbox.
Message system does not work, system wide or just at your ext.? If it doesn't work system wide you have big problems. If it is only at your ext. your call forwarding maybe turned off. press superkey then press next til you see call forward and set it up. You Need to know pilot number to Voicemail.
