Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines. First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. If you have checked the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

SOURCE: my dishwasher is not draining all the water at the

Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

SOURCE: drain pump running when unit starts but no water to appliance

Had this problem and a forward tilt pulled it out of flood protection mode but I had to manually drain all the water out into a bowl first - just using the drain hose at the back. Then running a cycle with one of those Finish liquid dishwasher cleaners, letting the unit go through a normal cycle and drain into a washing-up bowl cured it.

SOURCE: The water is not draining

Possible that the drain pump /drain valve is not working . it can be struck or it could have failed. Best is to check the voltage during the program . If voltage is present then pump is faulty but if voltage is not present then the controller board is not working ,possible failure in the board.

Water wont pump out at end of cycle

it would be helpful to have the full model number of the dishwasher.

do you get any lights flashing? how do you know it is end of cycle? could be still in wash and not got to rinse at all. Do you hear the drain motor running?

Try with a shorter cycle like simple rinse only and see if it drains the water.

I am assuming you have checked the filters are clean and there is no blockage in the kitchen drain.

There is still water on the dishes and in the dishwasher after the heated drying cycle. Not a lot but enough to wet the kitchen floor. What can we do?

check the kitchen drain is clear - looks like the drain cycle is not working efficiently.

Also make sure the filters at the base of dishwasher are clear.

Try a short cycle (like rinse only) and see if water drains at the end. If problem is occuring only during the normal wash cycle, then drying fan may be the problem.

GE Nautilus Drain Problem

I had the same problem (water remaining in the bottom) after the rinse cycle. FYI my GE Nautilus is 7-years old.
(1) I disconnected the drain tube at the garbage disposal unit (in the sink) and, using a wire coat hangar freed a 'plug' of sludge located at the spot where the drain tube clamps onto the garbage disposal. I blew into the drainage tube to further clear other 'plugs' I observed but could not reach w/the coat hangar.
(2) I unscrewed the Filter/Strainer on the inside (bottom) of the dishwasher; and further removed the inner filter; cleaned both out.
(3) Re-ran the dishwasher thru complete wash/rinse cycles (to check for leaks. There were none.
Finally, upon completion of the w/r cycles there will always be a small pool of water (residing in the filter area). However my dishes are clean and (after 7-years) checking the drain tube and filters was a breeze.
Hope this helps

Dishwasher

Check to see if you have any switches on your dishwasher that could by pass a rinse cycle. Use a hotter temparture when washing, Check your water level, check your filters on your inlet hose top and bottom. When it gets to a rinse cycle you should hear it drain out and bring in fresh water. you could change to a liquid detergent. Dont over load your dishwasher. make sure you are using rinse aid and try adjusting it up one setting. Shiney glasses means your rinse add is working. NZL

Does not advance to drain cycle

I would bet that it is the timer switch assy.
Motor runs ? yes
washes? yes
drain tube clear ? yes

If there is no drain valve to deal with, the problem must be the contacts during the timer cycle, since the main obviously works or you wouldn't be able to wash anything.
you need a new timer switch assy.
