How can I get into my ipod if I forgot my pass code?

you might have to reset it to factory settings

The 4th generation iPod is a portable media device that can play music, videos, and display photos.

Occasionally, you may run into issues with the iPod where the player has trouble working.

Restoring your iPod to its factory settings will often correct any software issues the player may have by wiping all of the data off of the iPod, and restoring its software to its original condition.

Restoring your 4th generation iPod can be done in just a few minutes, and requires the help of your computer.

Connect your iPod to your computer using the included USB cable, just as if you were going to sync it to add music or other data.

Launch iTunes if it does not launch automatically, and select your 4th generation iPod from the list of devices on the left side of the screen.

This will launch information about your iPod in the main iTunes window.

Click the "Restore" button in the middle of the iTunes window to begin restoring your 4th generation iPod to its factory settings.

Your computer may ask you to enter an administrative username and password to continue. A progress bar will then appear letting you know the status of the restore.

Wait for the progress bar on the screen to finish and then disconnect your 4th generation iPod.

The iPod is now restored to its factory settings.

You can reattach the iPod to your computer and set it up again, just as you did the first time you used it.

hope this helps

It say do not disconnect

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support.

In a case where you are receiving a Do not disconnect message and freezes in that state even if you disconnect your iPod, the usual remedy is to allow your iPod's battery to completely drain. Then connect the iPod back to your computer and allow it to completely recharge. At that point, connect it to iTunes and perform a restore,

A restore will restore your iPod back to its original factory settings, but once it does, you will have your iPod back and should also be able to restore your iPod back to one its previous backups via iTunes.

Try this procedure and let me know if this helps.

It does not let me upload music.it puts a locked image

To unlock you Ipod
The first way you can connect the iPod to the computer it was originally configured on, and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
You then can go into the preferences and turn off the lock. If you don’t have access to the original computer or it just does not work, you can jump to the second method.
The second way is the fix for any iPod problem, it is the classic “restore your iPod to factory settings.” That this will erase all data on your iPod and take you back to day one, but you can just add your music and data back to iPod from iTunes.

The volume control is locked

The ONLY way to resolve this issue is to restore using iTunes. iTunes will restore the iPod. It is recommended to only have one iPod connected to one computer at a time. Also shairring your library should not cause the iTunes to not restore your iPod. If you are not wanting to restore the iPod due to not wanting to loose music, you will have to choose between unlocking the volume limit and keeping music.

I thnk u shud restore your ipod to factory setting using itunes. Several reason may have caused your itunes to crash.Maybe u disconnected your ipod before it has completed to sync your music and or your ipod might be affected with a virus. you better restore it to avoid further disapointments. I have an ipod i have experienced such problems. The only risk is you are going to loose the current songs in your ipod

You will need to hook your iPod up to itunes and Restore the iPod software to the original factory settings.
When your iPod mounts to iTunes, you will see a button that says "Restore"
Press the restore button and your iPod will be restored back to it's originally state.
Here is the draw back, You will lose your music and have to resync or reload your music

Downlaod-error messege when attempting to reset iPod classis

If when you have a new ipod and you connect it to a computer, if the first computer you connect it to is a mac, then that is the only type of pc it will work with after that. If you want it to connect it to a windows, you will have to restore it which will allow it to work with windows software. For some reason unknown, mac and windows have different loading software for the ipod and has to be re-installed with a restore before it can work with a different operating system. When it restores on your computer, check to make sure it has a strong internet connection. You should be able to restore after that.

Ipod classic 80 GB wouldnt allow me to load music.. now it wont appear in itunes either

My classic won't sync at all. When I plug it into a USB port a screen comes up on my ipod saying "connected" then within seconds it's replaced by another screen that says "ejecting"

It works fine on my son's PC and my wifes Mac. Just not on mine. I have disabled the firewall. Tried all the various USB ports. I know cable is fine cause it works on other computers. I have latest in ITunes and have service pak 2 with XP. So needless to say I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this. HELP!!!!
