Paper Jam on

I printed one sheet this morning & the next page I tried to print, my printer said "Paper Jam, Hit OK to continue". I did, but it just keeps trying to feed the paper & continues to give the same message. It has picked up the paper a couple of times & partially feeds it through, but then quits. It says Paper Jam again, so I hit OK & it feeds it through farther. Is there something you can do to help me or should I just go buy a new printer? I've had it for 4-5 years.

Most printers are pretty cheap now so replacement is always an option....on the other hand, I will spend countless hours trying to figure out what is wrong first. Remove all paper first, open printer and check for pieces of torn paper or debris, if you have a can of air you can blow out the insides to clean. Put 3 or 4 sheets of paper in, print a test page and watch carefully how paper advances...is it straight or crooked when being loaded? Is printer trying to pull more than 1 sheet at a time? Good luck

When printing documents no matter how few or how many pages, paper gets stuck in the middle of printing.

Try using regular paper on unit as specified by Samsung. If that does not resolve the issue then the hassle lies with the paper feed mechanism. Often a good cleaning of all the rollers in the path can take care of the issue.

Paper or specialty media misfeeds
These are possible solutions if paper or specialty media misfeeds or skews, or if multiple sheets feed or stick together.
Try one or more of the following:
Check paper condition

  • Use only new, unwrinkled paper.

Check paper loading

  • Load a smaller amount of paper into the printer.

  • Load paper with the print side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)

Remove each page as it is printed

  • Remove each page as it exits, and let it dry completely before stacking.

Adjust the paper guides

  • When using media less than 8.5 inches wide

  • To rest against the edges of the paper or media, making sure it does not buckle

When a paper jam occurs, the printer will stop printing and the Continue (1) and Paper Jam (2) lights on the operator panel will come on. See the illustration below.
pattlnk_1052005_1635-enus20238_oppaneljamlights_e230_en_us.gif When you experience a paper jam, it is recommended that you check and clear the entire paper path. To clear a paper jam, do the following:
  1. If you are feeding paper from a paper tray, first remove the tray. Look for and remove any jammed or damaged paper you find.

    pattlnk_1052005_1636-enus20238_removepaperjam_e230_en_us.gif
  2. Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

    IMPORTANT!
Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light, especially sunlight, for an extended period of time. Extended exposure to light will damage the green photoconductor roller and cause print quality problems.

    pattlnk_1052005_1639-enus20238_removecartridge_e230_en_us.gif
  3. Remove any paper you find jammed in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

    pattlnk_1052005_1645-enus20238_removepaperjam2_e230_en_us.gif
  4. Also lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any paper you find jammed beneath the flap.

    pattlnk_1052005_1646-enus20238_removepaperjam3_e230_en_us.gif
  5. Open the rear exit door/cover of the printer and remove any jammed paper you find there.

    pattlnk_1052005_1647-enus20238_removepaperjamrear_e230_en_us.gif
  6. Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, reinstall the print cartridge assembly. Close all the printer covers/doors. Reinstall any paper trays you removed.
  7. Press the Continue button to resume printing. NOTE: The printer should reprint the page(s) that caused the paper jam.
  8. If the paper continues to jam, press the Continue button twice quickly while the Continue and Paper Jam lights are on. This will cause the operator panel to display the secondary error paper jam light sequence. The secondary error code will tell you where the printer thinks the problem has arisen. For more information, see the 'Secondary Error Codes' section on page 69 of the User's Guide.

HP PSP 2355

the only thing that can be done is to go to your printers and faxes folder and looking for your HP printer icon, right click on it and select uninstal, switch off and remove printer from the usb port Next go to add/remove programmes and look for any HP printer software listing and uninstall it and restart the pc. If you have the installation cd that came with the printer reinstall the driver and when prompted reconnect the printer to a usb port preferebly a different one than before if you have spare and continue. reset the HP printer to the default printer if not already been prompted to do so by the software and try again printing, if the result is the same the printer itself is faulty and requires servicing or replacing
