What about the 10% that it's in the keyboard? I've tried it on three different computers including a mac, used to work fine, now it just powers on but isn't recognized at all.

I have a problem with my Oxygen49 as well. It used to work fine, recognized in Fl Studio and everything and then one day it is no longer recognized, neither in Fl Studio or in the Device Manager. It powers on, I just cant get it to be recognized by anything on any computer. I've installed the latest drivers from m-audio.com on 3 different computers, still no recognition. Please help me out!

If the keyboard is lighting up, there is a 90% chance the problem is in the software in your MAC.

Hint: Software "breaks" easier than the hardware !!!

Re-install your software as a first step.

Why are the Keys on my axiom pro 61 not sending MIDI messages?

Does your keyboard have a "MIDI OUT" port? If yes, then
there is a selection to choose between USB or MIDI OUT port.
For my M-AUDIO oxygen 61 (silver), I must press the [Advanced] button then Note F3 on the music keys manual to toggle the MIDI-OUT.
If set to INT, it will not sent via USB. If set to USB it will not send via MIDI-OUT port. To use MIDI-OUT port I need external 12V DC adapter.

Oxygen 49 midi controller switches itself off when pressing "record" button on Ableton Live

Make sure only the midi input is set, not the output, and that the channel your using is armed. Otherwise the signal won't get through in record mode.

Can a Korg CX3 Organ 61 keys be compatible with the RolandFantom XR module?

Hi, from what I can tell you cound plug your CX3 into the synth module with a 1/4 inch patch cable and run the audio through it, however I think you will be quite limited in what you can do to modify your sound.

Where the synth really works well is when you feed it digital input data. For you to be able to do that your CX3 would need midi outputs and while I don't have one, I looked it up and can see that the CX3 is too old and does not have midi capability.

Midi (musical instrument digital interface) is a common language that allows musical devices such as your fantom to communicate with other devices. A keyboard with midi running into a synth is in essence just a control surface, a way for you to input data into your synth module, it is making no sound itself, but rather outputting digital data into your synth which in turn generates the sounds you want it to. There are allot of keyboards out there that are only for this purpose and are simply controllers. For example, M-Audio Oxygen 61 - 61-Key USB MIDI Controller. I'm afraid your CX3 is just too old to be able to do this, however, I imagine some of the sounds that thing makes are very vintage and good, and modern synthesizers often times just cant reproduce that (though they are getting batter all the time). Hope that helps :)

While using korg m50 editor using usb data cable there is no sound from my lap.the sound is only from my head phone connected to my keyboard directly?

Are you connecting to the laptop and using it as a midi controller? You can record midi notes from the keyboard and send them to your laptop via USB using any midi sequencer program (reason, logic, etc). Create a midi track, select the input of that track as your keyboard, then hit record to play some midi notes. To hear what you record, you have to set the output of the midi track to whatever midi sounds or instrunents you have installed on your laptop.

If you are trying to record the actual audio sound the keyboard makes, use an audio program such as cubase, sonar, audacity, pro-tools, and either mic the keyboard, or connect one of the other audio outputs (1/4" TRS) to an audio input on your DAW, and record an audio track that way (as opposed to a midi track).

I have a 3rd generation m-audio midi keyboard, when i switch it on the numbers keep on rolling.

See if the buttons that scroll the numbers MIGHT be stuck down. Try wiggling them sideways and see if it stops. Beyond this you will need to open the unit and inspect for possible cable problem or debris that might be shorting the signals from the panel buttons.

You must use some form of MIDI sound generator module connected to get sound... It is a standalone capable MIDI generator, but NOT generating audio.

Have a casio px 320 and trying to use it in GarageBand on my Mac OS X. Connecting USB cable from USB output on Casio to USB input on Mac doesn't work. Any help?

use the audio output to send the keyboards internal patch sounds, or use a usb midi adapter to use the keyboard to trigger the garageband midi sounds, if the keyboard has a midi output, that is. the usb output requires software drivers to use, and IS NOT mac compatible. You may have to select a midi source in garage band preferences or settings if you are using midi.

Try to get the keyboard to play through out my speackers

Since this has no audio output it will depend upon your computer to generate the sound using the audio system in the computer. You will need the driver software for the M-Audio to talk to the sound hardware in your computer and configure that to accept the MIDI inout from the M-Audio.
You will need to OPEN the volume and mixer controls for your sound board, unmute it, and enable the SYNTH channel and select "general MIDI".
As a test, download VanBascoe's Karaoke thing and play MIDI files to make sure your synth software is working. Then assign the MIDI source to teh USB input from the M-Audio.

Connect usbtocomputer

Hello - I am too a personal owner of a CASIO CTK keyboard, a little older than yours (model CTK-601) a great keyboard BTW, and I have connected it to my computer successfuly.

There are 2 ways of connecting the keyboard to your PC......Using the MIDI outputs and a special MIDI to gameport adapter - if you have a very old system and have a joystick port (D-sub shape) on your soundcard or PC, then you use that cable. Of course this is legacy and stopped existing in newer computers, now USB is used.

Only the professional line of soundcards have direct MIDI inputs. For most of us, with consumer soundcards and PCs, there are no MIDI inputs.

The good news is that newer keyboards support USB MIDI and features direct USB connection - so all you have to do is install the drivers that are provided with your keyboard, usually a CD, and follow the instruction to install the USB drivers for your casio keyboard, BEFORE you plug in the cable (very important!) once installed you reboot and connect your keyboard using a USB cable

Now if your keyboard is older and has MIDI outputs, like mine for example, you will need to purchase a MIDI to USB adapter, those have MIDI cables in one end that plug to your keyboard and the other end a USB connector....... I don't know about the rules if I am allowed to post websites, but the product i'm using is the Uno from M-Audio - in google do this search:

"m-audio"uno

(exactly as shown above with quotes, and uno outside quotes)

Your CTK-810 may alreayd have a USB connector on it, as it is a newer generation keyboard - I am pretty sure it does - what you will have to do as stated above is located your bundled CD-ROM and install the USB drivers - you will need to purchase a USB cable (seperately).

Can't get Casio CTK 601 / 611 to function as MIDI Contrller

I'm not at home right now where all my manuals are so I'll try to explain with out. You will have to set it so that the keyboard is the slave device. Try setting it to Omni receive. It has to be able to listen for all midi channels at once. You have to write a sequence on your computer and hook it to your keyboard by using midi out on the computer to midi in on the keyboard in order for you to use the computer as a controller. If you need the keyboard to create the sequences then you have to hook the midi send on the keyboard to the midi in on the computer play/enter your notes into individual tracks in your software then assign channels, voices etc to each track and save the sequence. Then when you hook it up the other way the sequence will play just like an audio recording except the sound w2on't be there. What you have recorded by creating a sequence is a series of midi messages that the keyboard will receive if you have it set properly and hooked up ptroperly which it will translate into sound. This is a minimalist explanation at best. You will have to have a better understanding of not only your keyboard but also your software and midi in general. There are some pretty amazing things you can do with midi. For instance if you have a lighting controller that is midi capable you can i,mbed all the lighting scene changes for your song in order on one track. You can also control your guitar effects pedal to change effects automatically while your playing. Once you get a handle on it you are only limited by your imagination and your budget. Hope this helps in some way.
