You will need a new micro-USB port and some fine soldering skills. Unless you're a pro with a soldering iron and have the necessary tools, take it to one of those little mobile phone shacks you find at markets etc. They're usually run by Asian gentlemen and they can do all this kind of thing quite easily and cheaply. Have a go at it yourself, but you will probably need a lot of lights and magnifiers. Have fun!
Either the charger is not working or you got a bad plug inside the phone I would take this to a verizon dealer and have them try some things with it. If this phone has a contract to it I know verizon would repair or replace this phone.
I hate it when that happens! Batteries for cell phones these days are designed to only last about a year, and then the life will slowly decline from there. However, you seem to just have a faulty battery.
If you bought your phone through Verizon, they have a limited battery warranty program that lasts for one year. You can go to your nearest Verizon store and have them replace it, but make sure you bring your charger as well, they may want to just troubleshoot and test to make sure your charger isn't the problem.
If you are far from a Verizon store, or did not purchase your phone through them, you can purchase the batteries very cheap on ebay.. You wouldn't believe the markup on them!
