Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop
Have tried several software programs that check the registry... and occasionally some probrems are found and cleaned...but this problem still continues. The problem seems to have started after the numerous Windows XP updates loaded, so its real hard determining which one, if at all, was at fault. Have reloaded the operating system several times, but nothing helps.
First remove any new, or unnecessary hardware, extra mouse / keyboard / monitors / dongles / and even the battery.
Try again, and if possible, get into 'safe mode' by pressing F8.
If it is stable in safe mode, you at least can try removing devices under, START / CONTROL PANEL / SYSTEM / HARDWARE / DEVICE MANAGER. Then whilst disabling various devices, try booting again into normal mode, and obtain a new, AND correct driver for whatever piece of hardware was deemed to be at fault.
