MY Garmin 405 wont download

After calling customer support they have fixed thyis issue.

Here's what you need to do, or at least this worked for me.

make sure Force Send of OFF and all other ANT computer setting are ON.

UN PAIR device

Press BOTH buttons and HOLD until the screen goes BLANK then release BOTH buttons together, this will carry out a SOFT RESET

MOVE the 405 OUT OF RANGE and allow device to go into SLEEP MODE for half an hour

REBOOT your computer

Now re pair device and data SHOULD now transfer


NB make sure you have saved the data by pressing the reset button and waited for the countdown 3 2 1 this will allow data to transfer.

I got the same issue and it was because of a software update to ANT+ agent being not compatible with the 405.
here is what I got from Garmin Support.
This solved my problem:
There is currently an issue that has been identified with the latest
version of the ANT agent where it will not transfer data to the computer
from a 405cx. To resolve this please follow these steps
1. If the device has paired it will need to be removed. Right Click on
the ANT agent, select Device Settings then click Remove Device.
2. Right Click the ANT agent and select Exit to close the ANT agent
3. Go to the Control Panel, select Add / Remove Programs and uninstall
the ANT agent.
4. Reboot the computer
5. Download the previous version of the ANT agent from http://www8.garmin.com/software/GarminANTAgent_221.exe
Run this file once it has downloaded
7. Turn on the pairing on the watch ? to do this go to Menu > Settings
> ANT+ > Computer > Pairing (on).
8. Enable pairing on the computer - right click on the ANT agent icon
and select Pair With New Devices > Enabled (this may already be enabled)
The Forerunner and computer should now pair, please be aware that it can
take several minutes for the computer to find the watch.

hi, I had same issues with my 405 and found that the instructions are fairly useless, I could not transfer data to garmin connect, I typed garmin training centre in google search with the ANT stick in the USB port.......... then was asked to pair the ANT stick...... after this no problems transferring data , so why do the instructions not describe this process?????? otherwise a brilliant product.

Turned off force send. left all ant setting on. unpaired device and it immediately started transferinng data. can't explain it but it worked.
