Universal Bosch mixer quit and cannot find any...

I have a universal bosch mixer 700w. It was running under full load and just quit. It no longer runs or makes any sound on any setting. I have taken it apart and there are no breakage or burn signs. The motor gets power on pulse and 2 &3. There is no continuity when checking the small black resistor...could this be the problem? If so, why does it not run on 2 &3 Thanks...I'd take it to a service shop but I live in Africa. Jonathan Davis
