Re: Lynksis wrt150n .. setting
Log in to your router and select the wireless tab. Then click on wireless security. Set your security mode, encryption type and create a key that will be needed to connect to the router wirelessly. Administration tab should be right next to status tab.

* NOTE: If you tried to set-up the WRT-150N Router previously, but failed, with the Router ON, press the "Reset" button on the back panel and hold it down for 10 seconds, then release. Your Wireless signal may already be secured by the manufacturer and often the wireless code is printed on a label stuck to the router itself
IF not already set here is how you secure the wireless
Connect your PC to the router with a cable to one of the LAN connections - Now you need to Log into the setup of the router - to do that open a web browser, use Internet explorer (some routers setup pages do not work correctly with other browsers) In the browser address bar - enter the Router’s default IP address, 192.168.1.1, in the Address field. Press the Enter key.
A screen will appear asking you for your User name and Password. Leave the User Name field blank. Enter admin in the Password field. Then click the OK button.
Now you can goto the wireless section or secruity section and set the type of encyption to WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK etc and then make up your own password.
On the PC
Double click on the wireless connection in the system tray (bottom right hand side of screen) and then connect manually to your wireless signal - you will be asked for the password you set in the router.
Now you are connected.
To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: - 1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable. 2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address. 3. Enter the router setup, login and password 4. Change the admin password 5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast. 6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA). 7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router. 8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings. 9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router. 10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.
OK maybe get an external antenna in any event place the Unit/Antenna up as high as possible... also ensure ya aren't near any large metal objects/power wire junctions etc, but generally an external antenna will Boost ya signal, also even just moving "it" somewhere else can make a big improvement... In some wifi routers ya can increase and decrease ya output, ya may wanna check ya manual to see if yours is one of those? Ya may also want to try changing "Channels" on the Router too.. this also has been known to help. Good Luck :)
