Flexion1, Thanks for your reply. When i tried to create the trainee clerk, after a completed transaction, the receipt printed replacing every space with an asterix i.e *. Why is this so? Also unfortunately i think i had entered a wrong code that caused the following to happen. After a transaction e.g 12 x 1.00 flat PLU 001 then subtotal then 20.00 then CA/Amt Tend, it shud give me change of 8.00 and transaction completed but instead, on the display screen, "enter condiment/preparation PLU" appears. Can you resolve this problem for me please. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

I'm pretty sure that is right for training mode (asterisks). It has been a long time since I used it (I prefer to use standard clerks when training so i can demo the daily reports). It is easy to confirm - just print a Z report and see if the transactions are totalling in there. If not, you are in training mode. For your other problem, try turning to program, 0 CASH SUBTOTAL 3 SUBTOTAL 0 CASH SUBTOTAL

Are you new balancing before you try to log the second clerk on? Make sure you don't have the check tracking selected. You can use interrupt or tables, but not both.

This makes no sense. they are all unrelated problems. Did all of these problems suddenly happen when you changed clerk settings? Try logging on as another clerk. They are in totally different areas of programming. I'm getting some information together for these problems. As for the amount limitation problem, do you get the error when you press the item, or only when you try to press CASH at the end of the sale?

Oh right. sorry, the last part of your question was cut off, so I didn't see all of it. It looks like you have accidentally set limitations and preparation status on a PLU.
Firstly, you need to jump out of preparation status. Follow this carefully:

Turn key to PROGRAM mode. (don't worry if error/ beeping) Turn power off at wall. Hold RECEIPT FEED down - keep your finger on it. Turn power on at wall. Wait 5 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED. You should see "FFFFFFFFFF" on display. Press SUBTOTAL and wait for printout. 3 SUBTOTAL (if you see error 8, you need to sign back on) 0 Now press the item button that gave you the error SUBTOTAL
Now go to REG mode and try that PLU (item). If it is doing it on any item or only when you press a payment, let me know

Try this:
Turn key to program mode 3 SUBTOTAL type clerk number to be set to trainee e.g. 1 07 SUBTOTAL 67 SUBTOTAL 100000 CASH SUBTOTAL
To change the clerk back to a normal clerk, do the same thing, but use 000000 in place of 100000

Okay great. We'll try the setting for print control then.
Turn key to program mode 3 SUBTOTAL 0522 SUBTOTAL 40 CASH SUBTOTAL
Turn key back to REG mode and try it. You might have to print two receipts before you see the result.
If it is not what you want, do the same procedure again, but replace the 40 with 1000. Otherwise, to have both, use 1040 in place of the 40.

Sorry, I have just got back in the country. I think you need unit pricing during multiplication. This is held in one of two or three settings, so we can now go through and find it. In the machine feature programming section (just after keyboard programming), you'll find lots of tables with address codes at the top and then in brackets it will have a description. Look for the address code that has the description '(print control for receipt)' next to it. Tell me what the address code number is for that table.

These three things are all non standard for cash registers and will require codes that I don't have. they can probably be achieved but it will require the machine setting tables from the manual to set the options. My notes are incomplete in this area. I can tell you what to look for if you are able to obtain the dealer manual

Printing


after the tranz prints the first receipt do not press the func/enter button, but rather press the clear button on the upper right hand corner. It will not print the second receipt nor will it cancel the transaction.
