I also have been having the same problem no matter what the sofware. Also I bought a gitar rig setup and got the same problm. So I have come to the conclusion that the asio drivers and usb guitar interface running with the music software ie Cubase Live ect are memory hogs and you must upgrade to 2 gigs if possible at least 1.5 gig. I have not done this yet to prove it out but intend to anyway. Probably the slower the cpu ( older) the more ram needed. If you do this and it works for you let me know please.

Hi

I would perhaps try to reinstall the drivers for the device, and be sure that under audio settings, you have the Tascam set as the default device. Try this and get back to me here if it still gives you problems.

No sound from the monitor or playback

check out where your monitors are receiving their audio from.is it from the tascam or the onboard or audio another interface.first choose an output for your sound,if you using the tascam as an output for your sound connect your monitors to the phones input in front and use the mono mix knob to swap between audio coming from your usb or computer.if you want to hear from your mic or guitar move knob to usb if you want to hear from computer as in playbck move it to computer.

Tascam us 144 sync problems with cubase le

Hey lea,

i have a similar setup (Cubase LE & Tascam 144) and each time i start up Cubase i have to make sure there is no digital input going to the tascam. once cubase is started up but no project loaded i plug in my spdif from my DAT machine and then open my project and all is fine. does that answer part of your question?

i have a different problem though, i'm trying to record my DAT tapes which are recorded at 32khz and cubase doesn't recognize that sample rate properly. it'll record no problem, and play them back fine, but exporting always creates mismatched sample rates in the exported file. sucks big time and i have got no idea on how to fix it either.

Burn CDs from Tascam US-122L

The answer is yes, but it may not work as simply as you think. You can't just save your Cubase file / mix and then send it to your recorder. You'll want to render down the song you have to one stereo .wav file and send that to burner as a wav file. (That's the quick way). Another option is to render each file you have seperately so acoustic guitar, bass, vocal, etc are all seperate tracks. So the answer is yes, a .wav file is the format for audio cds. You'll record your seperate tracks and then you'll have to mix down, render, or export them when you are done. In Cubase, use "export".
