Question about GE WBSR3140DW Top Load Washer
We just got ahold of a GE washer. For some reason the cold water wont work. The water is on (it has been checked.) But the cold just wont work. Any ideas?
If it's not something as
simple as cross connected hoses, or a valve not turned on all the way, you
probably have a bad water inlet valve (also known as a fill valve or mixing
valve). The part is available at searspartsdirect.com under the
"Controls and Backsplash" heading as item number 805 in most of the
drawings. There are numerous part listings provided. You will need
to provide a more complete model number to narrow the search down to identify
the correct part. All you have to do is type in your complete model
number in the "Search by Model Number" block and follow the links on
the next page. There are helpful illustrations to assist you as
well. If you need advice on how to replace, please reply to this posting
and let me know. I hope this helps.
PS You can attempt to remove the hoses and clean the sediment screens on the valve as well. It may save you from having to purchase a new one.
