If it's not something as simple as cross connected hoses, or a valve not turned on all the way, you probably have a bad water inlet valve (also known as a fill valve or mixing valve). The part is available at searspartsdirect.com under the "Controls and Backsplash" heading as item number 805 in most of the drawings. There are numerous part listings provided. You will need to provide a more complete model number to narrow the search down to identify the correct part. All you have to do is type in your complete model number in the "Search by Model Number" block and follow the links on the next page. There are helpful illustrations to assist you as well. If you need advice on how to replace, please reply to this posting and let me know. I hope this helps.

PS You can attempt to remove the hoses and clean the sediment screens on the valve as well. It may save you from having to purchase a new one.

I have a GE HydroHeater front loading washer and it wont fill with water

First make sure water supply is on. Next try just cold OR hot water fill and feel the hose where it connects to the washer. Do you feel a faint buzzing or humming? If yes, you may have a clog in the line. If not, check that power is good to maxhine. If power is good, then control board is suspect and needs to be tested.

My ge top load washer will not allow cold water through it just drips out slowly. water comes out the water line but for some reason the machine wont let it through

Could be a clogged screen on the back of the inlet valve. If you have hard water and no water softener, especially likely. Turn off the water at the water, remove the cold water hose from the back of the machine and see if there is an accumulation of white crumbly material just inside the body of the valve. If so, carefully remove it, then use a screwdriver to remove the protective screeen inside the valve. It is a press fit and will come out with a little effort. Do not puncture it. Clean and reinstall, hook up the hose and turn on the water. Check for leaks and you should be back in business.

No Cold Water

THE SOLENOID VAVLE IS DEFECTIVE,NEED TO REPLACE IT, ITS WERE THE HOT AND COLD HOSES CONNECT TO BEHIND THE WASHER WERE YOU CLEANED THE SCREEN. NEED TO TAKE IT OUT AND REPLACE. ITS A ONE PIECE IT SHOULD BE RED OR BLUE OR SUMTHIN LIKE THAT.

GET THE MODEL NO AND SERIAL NO AND SOURCE AROUND FOR A REPLACEMENT PART. ALWAYS GO WITH THE ORIGINAL PARTS SO IT WOULD LAST LONGER, THEN TO MODIFY AND COST YOU MORE MONEY, WHEN IT SHOULDNT.

GE Washer wbsr3140d5ww water problem

Hello Chad
Welcome

Sounds like the cold water knob or switch is not switching and may be faulty.

I have a problem with my washer
For some reason when I try to start the washer and I have it set to cold it does not work if I put it to hot then its fine
The cold water does work though because if I change the washer to a later cycle cold water comes out just fine.
So it almost seems like its the timer knob
any ideas?
Thanks
