Question about SanDisk Sansa m230 MP3 Player

My mp3 player went weird on me.

Okay, this is my problem. I have a electro brand mp3 player. it's a little cheapo, but i still think there should be a way to fix it. When I turn it on, everything is normal, a song shows up, all that jazz. but then if i press play, you can't hear the bass, and the vocals are wicked quiet. all you can hear is the cymbal, the lead guitar, and very faint vocals, but the backup vocals you can hear fine. can you help me?

I can't figure out how to do a factory reset, and when i already tried adjusting the equalizer numerous times. it gives me a choice in bass treble or something else, and if i select one, it goes back to the main menu.

My zen stopped working

On the left side of the zen is a small hole, in that hole is the reset button, find something thin to poke in it, paperclips work nicely.

No reaction

If you don't mind losing your music/videos that you stored (not too sure if you do lose your music, but just in case),
find the reset hole on the side of the player, below the power/hold switch, push it with a paper clip or something of that size.

If that doesn't work, wait for the battery to die completely, then charge and turn it back on.

im not sure what kind of mp3 player you have, but i am using windows media player. i went to the top where it says sync. i clicked on the little arrow below it, and clicked on the name of my mp3 player with the little arrow next to it. a little menu should appear when u highlight the name of ur device. click on format, and it should say in order to format it has to delete all the media. click worked for me. hope it works for u too.

Weird error?

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
