Changing the drum

posted by amazed24 on May 14, 2008

So, I changed the drum in this copier, since the following message appeared after every copy I made: Replace Drum soon (or "Change" drum soon). After changing it, sure enough the error message continued to display after every copy. I went through and did everything they told me to. I even powered it off, unplugged it, etc., and nothing worked. I went into the set-up, and followed it to "drum life" and it said 0% remaining! This i a brand new (and quite expensive) drum. How can I get this error message to stop??

I was responsible for a brother machine simular to this. A button or two had to be pushed on the control panel while the machine was open to change the drum. Consult owners manual if you have it.
