It may be a bad VGA cable. If you twist and wiggle the cable on the computer connected end the blurred screen will clear up.

Computer screen going staticky randomly during use, bright flashing colors.

Do a hard disk check. I would bet your hard drive is going on you. Make sure you back up everything. The other thing to check is your video card. Much easier to deal with on a tower than a laptop.

Screen keeps going blank

Hi Wendy,
Sounds like a faulty or loose component inside the screen.
It can be caused by many loose or faulty electronic parts. Best you take it to a repair shop to have it checked out.

Best wishes,

Icons are blurry

Did it happen all of a sudden? In other words, was it OK before?

Try going to screen preferences, settings, and look at the resolution slider - is it set to the native resolution of your monitor (1280x1024)? If not, correct and accept changes.

If the resolution is set OK, then multiple other things might have happened, but not knowing a bit more about the situation it's hard to advise anything...

Screen goes black but leaves a very faint image. this happens at random times. turming the monitor off and then on seems to fix the problem for a short time

You are losing your backlight. The bulb is probably overheating and dimming out, when you shut it down, it cools off and will relight.

That is most likely the wrong video card for that motherboard. Or the video card slot on that motherboard is faulty... I would recommend taking it back to the shop and letting them fix it, since this happened after you got it back from the shop...

Screen goes blank

Screen going black would indicate a data flow problem- but then you would see a warning saying words to this affect or a back light/inverter problem. If by looking slightly sideways at the sreen you can see 'shadow images'[try a moving image to be syre] then you have a backlight /inverter problem If you see nothing at all ckecj the data cable pins- one or more may be bent

Monitor goes blurry, colours/pixels start shaking across screen

Do you have your screen saver enabled, i so turn it off and se if it still does it. Secondly boot your pc in safe mode(pressing F8) on boot up and select start windows in safe mode. See if the monitor still does it, if so a monitor fault or loose/faulty vga lead. If it is ok then your graphics driver may be corrupt and need re installing.
