It may be a bad VGA cable. If you twist and wiggle the cable on the computer connected end the blurred screen will clear up.

Computer screen going staticky randomly during use, bright flashing colors.

Do a hard disk check. I would bet your hard drive is going on you. Make sure you back up everything. The other thing to check is your video card. Much easier to deal with on a tower than a laptop.

Can't read the screen

Can't read the screen? Please give more details. Is the screen black? Is the screen blurry? What are you doing when this happens? When does it happen?

Can't read screen makes me think that there are things written on the screen, but you can't read it because it's blurry or too small.

I am using an ACER ASPIRE AX1300 desktop PC with an LG FLATRON M2262D TV as a monitor. What happens is that at very random intervals the screen goes off, the screens blue power light flashes and after 5 to...

Assuming you are using a VGA connection, you might try reducing the "refresh rate" of the port to its lowers setting (60Hz). Usually the screen-off will happen if the signal is too weak or "noisy." Aslso try a different or shorter VGA cable.

Icons are blurry

Did it happen all of a sudden? In other words, was it OK before?

Try going to screen preferences, settings, and look at the resolution slider - is it set to the native resolution of your monitor (1280x1024)? If not, correct and accept changes.

If the resolution is set OK, then multiple other things might have happened, but not knowing a bit more about the situation it's hard to advise anything...

Pantech Matrix Randomly resetting and "Sim Checking"

It has happened to me many times(VERY frustrating) it apparently is a common problem that can't be fixed. The only thing I can recommend is when your typing a long text periodically save it to drafts so if it does happen you wont loose all of the message.

Monitor blurry or black

The problem could be with the LCD or the Video chipset. Either repair is expensive. I would figure about $150 in labor plus part cost. You can try ebay to get an idea of the part cost.

At 4 years I would be leaning towards purchasing a new laptop.

Red band flashing intermittenly

Check your set for coolant leakage. This can cause all sorts of random erratic behavior, and has been found to be very prevalent in Mit HDreadys.

Take care of it now, before any boards in there get ruined. The 4 layer signal board is no longer available on your unit.
