Question about Bunn CDBCF 15 APS Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Water Level Has Dropped

When I purchased my coffee maker (refurbished) it would fill up the carafe full and has gradually decreased in what level it pours. I have recently changed the water filer and think that the water level needs to be adjusted. Perhaps I tweaked something while de-scaling it. Thanks

You may need to reset the dispense time. open the front panel and read the instruction on the panel itself. make sure the switch is in the "lock" position when you are done.

Cleaning the coffee maker

Cleaning a coffee maker is simple.
Fill the carafe with 9-10 cups of Water and 1 cup drain cleaner.
Put a paper filter in the basket. Run the cycle. You will see lots of garbage in the carafe. Repeat with the same water.
Next dump the water into the sink and refill the carafe with fresh water.
Run again, several times to flush out the acid. remove the basket and scrub it clean. Your coffee maker should run like new.

Why is our coffee maker brewing only half a carafe after filling with a whole carafe of water?

There is different reasons one being that it is a gravity/syphon system. Meaning as you pour cold water into the tank it forces the hot water up through a tube. What you may need to is simply pour water in until you see the water start to trickle out of the sprayhead that will let you know the tank is full. Like any container the water heat will eventually start to disapate. Once you have filled it to where you can see the water trickle out of the sprayhead allow a d\few minutes for the heater to heat up to temp again. Then you should be able to pour in a FULL carafe and get the results you are looking for. Or you could always look on bunnomatic's website for one that hooks up to water line and eliminates the need to pour any water in. www.midstatebeverage.com

We recently purchased a refurbished Cuisinart DGB-600 Coffee Maker at a yard sale. So far, we've had three batches of horrible coffee that tastes more like water with coffee flavoring. The first two...

It sounds like the water isn't flowing through the coffee grounds correctly. Perhaps you don't have the right kind of filter installed (either the right-sized paper filter, or the "gold" filter that comes with the machine) ... or, if uising pre-ground coffee, and if the coffee is all in a pile in the middle of the basket... the water will follow the path of least resistance, so much of it may run "downhill" and around the coffee, through the filter and into the carafe, without passing through the coffee. (That would be more likely if you're brewing only a few cups rather than a full pot.) Or, you might not be using enough coffee; I would use about 7-8 tablespoons of ground coffee for 10 cups of water. I'd recommend getting it working properly with pre-ground coffee before trying the grinder. It's also important that the lid of the carafe is in place while brewing, and that the carafe is fully seated in its chamber; the bump on top of the carafe's lid triggers a spring-loaded mechansim on the bottom of the basket, which regulates the flow of water into the carafe... so if any parts of this system aren't lined-up right, you may get unexpected results (including, in some cases, water all over the countertop).

I also recall, once upon a time, using one of those pre-packaged "packets" of coffee... sort-of like a large tea bag full of coffee grounds... and getting unsatisfactory results; again, the water found it easier to run over/around the coffee packet, rather than through it.

Filter cone is full of hot water & thermo pot has about 5 - 6 cup

Te water fill lid is not closed or or the flow valve in the tank is plugged. Remove the basket and clear the hole in the bottom of it.. If new, return it to place of purchase.

No manual with Bunn NHBX coffee maker.

before plugging in place your empty filter basket in the coffee maker and place a pot under it. Slowly pour in two pots of water using the pour pitcher. Now you can plug it in. it'll take 15 min to heat up first time . when you brew your first pot leave your water level a little short, because the water will expand (only the first time)

How to clean the kitchenaid java express coffee maker

The Coffee Maker can be descaled using
a packaged descaling agent or vinegar.
Always mix the descaling solution using
cool water.
• When using a descaling agent, follow
the directions on the package for the
recommended amounts of descaling
agent and water to use.
• When using vinegar, fill the carafe with
a solution consisting of 1⁄2 vinegar and
1⁄2 water.
Descaling Steps:
1. Before descaling, always remove the
water filter (see “Installing the Ion-
Exchange Water Filter” on page 7) and
make sure the brew basket contains
no coffee or coffee filters.
2. Run the Coffee Maker through a
complete brewing cycle using a full
carafe of the descaling solution.
3. If the cleaning needed indicator lights
after the brewing cycle is complete,
repeat Step 2 using fresh descaling
solution. Keep repeating Step 2 until
the cleaning needed indicator no
longer lights after brewing.
4. Rinse the Coffee Maker by running
it through two brewing cycles using a
full carafe of fresh, cool water
each time.
5. Wash the brew basket in hot, soapy
water and rinse with hot water. This
part can also be washed in the upper
rack of the dishwasher.
6. Reinstall or replace the water filter.
Replace the filter every three months
under normal usage, or more often
with heavy use.

Cleaning scale from coffee maker DO NOT USE THAT MUCH VINEGAR! Put a tiny bit of vinegar in the carafe and fill carafe the rest of the way with water. Run that vinegar/water through machine. Using another container, fill machine with plain water and run that through. Repeat until the vinegar taste is gone. If you do not run lots of plain water through the machine after, your coffee will taste like...um...disgusting! Also, use a spell-checker before improving this posting.

To clean hard water deposits from a coffee maker use distilled white vinager. You may need to use as much as a gallon if the scale buildup is really bad. Fill clean coffee pot one half full of vinager and run through machine as if making coffee. Repeat this process several times using fresh vinager until it comes out clear. Do this once a week and your maker will work much better.

Thanks.
