Question about Philips Magnavox 15MF400T 15 in. LCD Television
My wifes uncle has a Philips magnavox 17mf200v/17 television and the screen comes on for a few seconds/up to 3 minutes when you first turn on the television but after that it shuts off and only the sound remains. can anyone help? I thought it might be a fuse but since sound remains i thought against it, and would like a few opinions/sugestions. Any help is appreciated.
A blown fuse would not be intermittant.
It is possible that the back plane lamps, and or the back plane power supply is failing.
When the set is in the dark screen, shine a flashlight on the screen at an offset angle. Look carefully and see if you see the picture images. If so, this proves that the back plane lighting is having a fault condition. If there is no image at all, then there may be a fault condition with one of the drive boards for the picture processing or the screen itself.
