You did not mention who the manufacture is, but in most cases, the handle bar assembly will need to be loosened and folded down toward the engine. Then the cable is attached, then the handle is folded back to position.

Echo ppt-266 pole chainsaw will not cut with the pole extended

A very common problem is that the tip of the drive shaft breaks off. If it cuts with the pole retracted and won't cut with it extended, than the drive shaft is pulling out at the clutch end or at the head. Try loosening the screws where the pole goes into the cutting head, stand the unit straight up and twist the cutting head to see if it drops down even just a little bit. After trying that, loosen the screws where the pole goes into the engine assembly and twist it there also. If this doesn't work, remove the pole at the engine end and pull the drive shaft out to inspect the ends of the shaft. Good Luck. George

How do you change a 2000 ford contour tire

Instructions

1 Park the car on a level surface. Turn the engine off. Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery cable.

2 Loosen the lug nuts on the driver's side tire. Jack the car up till the tire has left the ground, and you can get a jack stand underneath to support the For Contour's weight. Lower the car onto the jack stand and remove the jack. Remove the tire.

3 With a socket wrench, remove the four bolts in the wheel well that hold the mud flap and the flap that protects the radiator from road debris.

4 Loosen the belt tensioner bolt by reaching in from the top of the engine with a socket or box wrench. This bolt is usually found in the engine block, holding a spacer bar to the alternator; consult your manual for the location in your specific year of Ford Contour, as they vary. Remove the belt from the pulley.

5 Pull the cotter pin from the ball joint stud where it connects to the wheel knuckle in the wheel well. Using a box wrench, loosen, but do not remove the nut on the stud.

6 Attach the Tie Rod End Puller to the tie rod by placing the tie rod end in the channel on the top of the steel grip of the puller, and twist the screw clockwise until the tie rod comes free. Separate the tie rod from the wheel knuckle.

7 Remove the nut on the ball joint stud that you loosened in Step
5.

8 Draw, mark or photograph the way that the wires connect to the alternator and then disconnect the wires.

9 Loosen and remove the three bolts holding the alternator in place. There will be one at the top, one at the bottom and one in the rear holding the alternator in a bracket attached to the car frame. Withdraw the alternator through the wheel well.

10 Installation is the reverse of removal. Remember to use a new cotter pin at the nut on the ball joint stud.

Thanks

How to install a serpentine belt for a 1994 chevy corsica

Hi, to replace the serpentine belt is a bit of work, but not really that hard. You will need to take off the right front tire. Once the tire is off, you will see a "panel" with screws on it..4 or 5 i think. You will need to remove this. You will need to unhook the cables from your battery, then loosen up your alternator. You will need to take off the top motor mount. There are 2 bolts holding it to the right fender well at right top. and I beleive 3 bolts holding it to the motor mount support. You will notice a bracket right under your alternator. 2 bolts you can reach from the top, 1 bolt you will need to go up under from the bottom. There should be a "window" just to the back of where your tire goes where you can reach through to get the last bolt to the bracket. Use a wrench to raise the tension bar up, and then the belt will slip right off.

I need to replace the positive battery cable and it doesn't look easy. it looks like its connected to the motor in about 3 spots. should i just take it to the shop?

  • Open the hood and find the top-post battery on the passenger's side of the Honda Accord.

  • Loosen the bolt on the black negative battery cable with a box wrench or cable clamp pliers. Carefully wriggle the cable end off the post.

  • Repeat the process on the red positive cable. Make sure to take off both cables from the battery even if you're replacing only one.

  • Follow the negative cable to where it's grounded to the front frame of the Honda Accord. Remove the end of the cable with the wrench. Track the positive cable to its connection on the front side of the engine and remove it with the wrench.

  • Clean the battery posts with a small wire brush

  • Attach the new positive cable first, reversing the process in Step 4. Put on the negative cable and start the vehicle to make sure the connections are working properly.

  • It's not that hard; Make sure that both cables are disconnected from the battery FIRST, then remove the engine connections one at a time so that you do not mix up the connections.

How to replace radiator lower hose 1995 jeep sport

First make sure engine is cold, grab a container big enough to hold about 3 to 4 gallon and about 2ft high , you want something that will fit under the truck. remove the cover from under the front under radiator area. now you will be able to see the hose, most older jeeps no longer have this cover, it may have fallen of or broke off , so if it not there no problem one less part to remove, next is to locate the hose going to the waterpump, loosen the clamp and slide down, use a pry bar or by hand remove from wtarepump, coolant will spill out so use container to catch, if you want you can draain radiator frist, theres a petcock on the driverside of radiator at the bottom just unscrew it and let it drain out then remove hose, when drianing remove the rad cap to allow better flow. with lower part of hose off next follow hose to other end on radiator and remove the clamp and twist and pull offf, reverse directions to install. with hose on fill rad and resivor and start engine and top off then install cap run until it reaches operating temp then shut engine off and let cool, when cool remove the cap and start engine and top off again if needed, good luck.

Got a sticky throttle on a honda CBR 250 rr how can i fix it

start at the handlebar end. loosen the 2 screws and slide off the throttle from the handle bar, wipe down the handle bar, and put a thin film of grease on it, then slide it back on, being sure not to slide it on all the way, about 1mm back, to prevent the handlegrip rubbing on the end of the bar. Next you need to lubricate the cable, this is best done from the top handlebar end, you need to take apart the cable housing, so you can spray some thin lubricant down the cable, such as WD-40, or you can even buy special cable lube. This will fix your problem im sure.

    LT 500 ATV clutch adjustment

    Hi!
    I havn't come across your Machine before but hopefully a little Q 'n' A will solve/FiXya problem.
O.K. 1st is the clutch cable operated? if so can the cable should be adjustable from the handle bars?(Then take up the slack to leave a slight gap when lever is pulled) Do this by loosening the locking screw on the end of the cable and turning the adjuster anti clockwise so tension is put on the cable Not the lever.
If the cable isn't adjustable from lever go down to the engine and do the same as above on the cable there.
2nd Is the clutch fluid operated (Master Cylinder on clutch lever) If so look for clutch pushrod and adjust it by loosening again the locking nut and winding it out to create less gap between pushrod and clutch arm. You may need to bleed the system if after adjusting still the same.(Come back to me on that if needed)
3rd If when carried out the clutch starts slipping i.e. in top gear Engine Rev's and doesn't move forward well? then release the tension on either cable/pushrod until happy medium.
    Good Luck!
