Disabling Outside Paging Over Phone Speaker

Is there a way to disable the feature that allows you to hear pages over each individual phone on the system. We have intercom speakers in the buildings and it is very distracting to have the pages coming over the phone speakers as well.

I am looking for a solution to disable it from the phone itself. If possible.

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided!

Sounds like you are receiving " ALL CALL " pages that go to all phones programmed with this feature. Your phone can be programmed OUT of the All Call in Program 31 ( Class Of Service ) LED 10 needs to be turned OFF. Do you have anyone that can program the system ?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How to program the page button

Can you please be a little more specific? Are you referring to assigning the paging feature to a button on the phone or programming the actions the system performs when you press the existing paging button on the phone? Normally, when you press the predefined paging button on this phone the system prompts you to select where your paging output goes. Depending on how your system was set up it may ask you to select "set", meaning when you select this soft-key the system will sound a short alert tone through all of the speakers in all of the phones connected to the system then allow you to talk through all of the phone set speakers. The other option is to select a soft-key that directs the output of the paging to an external PA system that is connected to the NAM through a punchblock connection. You can usually also select "both" which directs the output through the phone sets and the PA system. I am not certain what, if any system programming might be involved - I am fairly certain that if your system has not been connected to a PA system the paging function is just available to output through the phone set speakers. If your phones have no buttons assigned to the page feature then you'll need to refer to the system programming procedures to find out which feature code is assigned to paging and then access it by pressing FEATURE + the paging code or assigning the paging feature code to an unused button.

How do I make an in house page using the intercom?

Assuming you have configured paging zones and the phone is authorized to make a page,

Feature + 6 + 0 opens a general paging line to all zones.

Feature + 6 + 1 + X pages internal zone X (1-6 are allowed zone numbers)

I'm trying to disable paging on my T7316E phone. Paging is EXTREMELY loud and bothersome. There should be a function key sequence that disalbes it.

You can disable paging through system programming but it might be easier to turn down the volume by pushing the volume down arrow when a page is being announced.

We have group paging option for the office, however on several of the 5420 units we cannot hear paging when it's announced on the main phone unit. How can we fix it?

Are you paging the phones, or overhead speakers?
A few things might be...the 5420 phones might not be in the paging group, so look in your hunt groups.

The speakers might also be turned down, so press speaker, then press the up arrow for louder volume.

I need to know how to page another extension. Our Avaya phones do not have the intercom button. I thought there should be a function code to program a button for Intercom, but I'm not finding it. I need to...

There are 2 buttons right below Line 1 and Line 2. Those are both intercoms.

When paging a phone, you just insert a * (star) before the extension number.

SO, Intercom*11, will page extension 11

To program on a button, feature 00, press the button you want to program, then press the left intercom and *xx (where xx is the extension number)

As far as paging all the phones, you will need to have them in a calling group (1-4), hten you can page the group to page them all.

It might be in a calling/paging group. So remove it

Programming Page Button

You could look in the station user's guide and program paging. This may work, or not, if you're paging internal and outside do this:
From your phone press Feature 00 the button and then Intercom *70.

If you don't want all the idle phones in group 1, but just the outside speaker, press 70 alone.

I'm not positive, but you may have to delete the button in centralized programming if it is already assigned a "CO" line.
Centralized programming is done from extension 10 or 11 and involves the system manual and knowing where the overlay buttons are.

Post back if you need a basic Partner ACS manual or try www.avaya.com for system manuals.

Phone wont ring? or paging system dosent work

looking at your phone, press the up volume button. It should be faint at first, and get louder. If you hear nothing, the speaker might have gone bad. Try another phone......

Lost manual and can not page the warehouse .....

Well, before you program the button, you need to see what you have to program. At a phone whos paging button works, press FEATURE 00, and touch their paging button.
If it says loudspeaker page....GOOD. If not, repost with what it says.

FOR LOUDSPEAKER PAGING: From your phone
Feature 00
Touch the paging button, press LEFT intercom and 70
Feature 00 to get out of programming.

Done.
