Exactly the same problem - have started from scratch over and over but still happens

My Wii Fit is 5 days old. When I turned it on today it told me to step off and press A.. so I did then it told me to get off again.. Can't fix this problem. I called Nintendo and now I have to ship it out. I'm thinking it's one of the sensor pads that's stuck. It works if it's not on the ground and as soon as I put it on the ground it says to step off.. very frustrating as it's 5 days old and Nintendo wants me to ship it and it will be gone for 3 weeks.

    Thanks

You need to sync it,it sounds like.Open the battery compartment to the fit,and the large door on front of the console.Press the red sync button on the fit board then press the red sync button inside the door of the console. It may take a couple tries.I can't remember how long it gives you but it will work.Good luck and game on!

After choosing a Wii person, the program asks to get off the board and press Button A. We do, but nothing happens. Then It repeats.

I keep getting the message to "step off and press A" for the body test.

You need to step off the pad, wait until it tells you to step on. Then you push A to conduct the body test. If your pad is turned off push the button on the front of the wii fit pad then repeat the first steps i described.

My wii fit balance board says to step off and press A

You need to load it, stand on the board, step off, and then press A. I have a WiiFit and that happens. It expects you to be standing on it.

Wii Fit Board won't register with Wii Fit software

Nintendo had me set and reset the console and then the Wii fit board. They also had me take out the batteries from the Wii fit board, and repeat the reset. Apparently this works in many cases. IT didn't work for me, so now I'm bringing the unit in for repair. I am just a week past my 90 day warranty- they are charging me 47 bucks to fix it! What a sham! that's half the cost of what I paid for the darn thing!

"Step Off Me and Press A" message while not on wii board

When you get this message, lift the board off the ground, press A, and wait until you get to the confirmation screen before placing the board back on the ground. You may have to try a few times to get the timing right. I have no idea why it thinks someone is on the board, but this workaround has solved the problem for us. Good luck.
