The Micro mode is used to shoot close up images. Turning on the flash in micro mode will result washed out over exposed images. Hence in most cameras, choosing the micro mode will automatically disable the built in flash. Some Camera will show the message, cannot use flash or flash cannot be changed because of the micro restriction. This is normal operation. If you wish to use flash, please use some other manual priority mode.
thanks for understanding.
hi, even i have the same problem, probably i don't think the flash doesn't work, but even i didn't know how to use it. however, the instruction manual says there are 3 options in flash, they are auto- that is it turns flash automatically on when it turns on.
red eye reduction that is it says it will flash twice to reduce red eye but i never see the flash on and the flash off, that is it will not turn on and usually whenever you exit the camera the flash will default to turn off mode. you will need to switch the flash back. hope you understand.
Flash pops up shows that flash release mechanism is working as camera wants to flash. There are 3 thick wires connecting between flash bulb and flash charging circuit in camera, one of thick wire seems internally broken and causing problem. Camera will be apart to check wires. Let me know, if you are willing to apart camera, for further help. Thanks.
To correct the flash problem, please do the following:
Turn off the camera.
Install a set of new or fully charged batteries into the camera.
Turn on the camera.
Press the Flash Status button to scroll through the flash options until Fill Flash (the lightning bolt icon alone, with no other letter or symbol) is displayed. This forces the camera to use the flash.
I reviewed the menu settings and made a change to the flash option setting. Some how the function was turned to the off position!
Reading your posted comments gave me the idea to check that out!
Thanks, TW
Not sure about your camera but most of them yes you can turn of the flash.
Its usually in the settings; just remove it from "automatic flash" to "no- Flash" its sometimes symboled like a lightning arrown downwards. Look around it will be in your settings.
I hope this helps, please don't forget to rate my solution.
Did you try to access the flash mode of the camera and turn on the fill flash then try to take a picture? If the flash doesn't go then and your batteries are strong, then it will likely need service.
Make sure you put it on FILL FLASH and not on auto. Depending on the ISO the flash may not always fire in the auto mode.
