Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
To me the problem sounds like its the dvd-rom drive, try the discs that DON"T work in you console in another console, If they still fail to work, the problem is the disc.
Make a buck and trade them in for new copies at a games boutique.
If the games do work you may be in need of a replacement dvd-rom drive.
Please read up on what model you have and what model you'll need to replace with as there are many different models and brands floating around.

Yes this is because of the sensors on the drive overheating all you need to do is stop the heat build up getting to the main chips and you will be fine, use a good repair guide or send it in for a fix.
