There are several things that can cause it. You are best to have an expert technician come in and take some test on it in order to determine if it is from vertical blanking failure or something else. It is not easy to fix this yourself, if you have no experience, because there are a lot of parts that have to be removed before you can reach the components. It could be as simple as a loose connector ribbon or a bust capacitor, but it could also be more complicated. Hence, in my honest opinion, better get a qualified technician.

Hope that helps!

My Pioneer Plasma Display Model PDP-424mV must be set on a timer as it will turn off approximately 90 seconds after being turned on . I cannot find the "timer" menu selection. How do I fix this?

try looking on your remote, look for a sleep button and proceed to deactivate the sleep timer using the arrow buttons. if this is not the case, then perhaps your internal cpu is allowing the TV to start, then detecting a problem and forcing the tv to turn off again, though i don't see how it would be possible in this case. there are many others better suited to answer that question other than me, but the sleep button is a good start =)

I have a Pioneer PDP-5070HD. A cable box and xbox 360 are the only components connected to it. Recently the picture displays distorted red and green static, snow. I've done all I can to troubleshoot...

A few years back when we did pioneer Warranty work, I sent them a roll of solder because it was obvious they were out at the factory..... Many problems with Pioneers can be because of cold or intermittent solder connections. so the first thing a tech should do is simply re-solder all the boards. Sounds like you have a intermittent connection in the convergence circuit this would cause the red, green and blue to appear to separate

Pioneer plasma media receiver problem

The Pioneer multi media reciever box is only serviceable from the manufacture. They should have authorized service reps that they equiped to do service for Pioneer devices. They normaly change boards to service it. The regular service man would only be able to fix a simple cold solder connecton or fix some other simple part of it.

Contact the place where you bought it to find out about servicing it. You may find it cheaper and easier to simply replace it completely. It is very possible that there is no service support for this box. Get an estimate before accepting to service it.

Most of the small electronics of today are throw-away anyways...
