Question about Jeep Watches

1 Answer

I have a jeep "depth master watch" (the only information on the box) also described on the box as a depth meter series watch (about 6 years old). I am planning to dive for the first time but have lost the instruction manual. The watch has a depth sensor, depth compensation with a flexible PU strap. There is no operational Jeep website or contact details. Where to download a copy of the manual would be great but I cannot even find the watch let alone the manual on the internet. Cheers in advance.

The Abyss 10.900 is a waterproof diving watch that features a silicone filled stainless steel case and stainless steel unidirectional bezel on a black rubber strap. Silicone is denser than salt water, making the Abyss water resistant to grater depths. 10.900 is the depth in meters of the deepest location on earth, the Marina trench in the Pacific Ocean. The refractive index of silicone enables you to see the dial and hands from any angle under water. You can typically buy this watch for about $425.00

I have a jeep depth meter watch which is about 8-10 years old.it is the same movement as citizen's aqualand models with depth sensor, descent alarm ..etc.following a water damage i think it stopped...

From my contacting Jeep watches.com, I've found that is by a UK Distributor and not the US ... You should contact the UK Distributor ... info@jkhenderson.co.uk or Phone: +44 (0)1942 845 600.

Can I swim laps w/ my ebel 30 meter watch? The watch has 4 screws on the back and the crown does not screw down.

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
Water Resistant is a common mark stamped on the back of wrist watches to indicate how well a watch is sealed against ingress of water. It is usually accompanied by an indication of the static test pressure that a sample of newly manufactured watches was exposed to in a leakage test. The test pressure can be indicated either directly in bars, or (more commonly) as an equivalent water depth in meters (in the United States sometimes also in feet).
An indication of the test pressure in terms of water depth does not mean a water resistant watch was designed for repeated long term use in such water depths. For example, a water resistant watch marked at 30 meters depth cannot be expected to withstand activity for longer time periods in a swimming pool, let alone continue to function at 30 meters under water. This is because the test is conducted only once using static pressure on some of the newly manufactured watches. The test for qualifying a diving watch for repeated usage in a given depth includes safety margins to take factors in account like aging of the seals, rapidly changing water pressure and temperature, as well as dynamic mechanical stresses encountered by a watch. Also every diving watch has to be fully tested for water resistance.
Hope this helps.

I would like to know if the casio 3736 watch is water resistant because I found only the phrase water resistant 5bar

"Water resistant 5 bar" means that it is water resistant to and depth of 50 meters. (1 bar is approximately equal to 10 meters of water depth).

F-117 Nighthawk 6402 series, moisture has entered watch face after swimming in pool on holiday.

This watch is resistant to 200m so shouldn't allow water in at swimming pool depths.

It looks as though one of the seals has failed.

If it still under warranty (less than 2 years old), then contact your nearest authorized dealer

To find your nearest dealer or their service center, go to Luminox.com. At the top of th epage you will see a list of links.

Can i dive with this watch?

You definetely CAN NOT dive with this watch. It is good for swimming and snorkeling only. Real divers watches withstand at least 200 meters of depths and are specialy designed for it.
One of the best affordable divers watch manufacturers novadays is Seiko. Check Seiko website and learn about divers watches and all the features they have. List of waterproof markings and explanations are also available.
