Question about Samsung HLR5064W DLP Projection TV
From your description is sounds like a major problem.
If there is light , then lamp and ballast are OK. PSU is also probably OK, but this requires further testing. The PSU supplies power to different lines on different voltages, if there are problems on lines going to main/DMD board/light engine, that may have had influence on the problem.
I do not think however that the problem is PSU, since the TV would have gone in protection mode (forced standby, only +5V active).
I think the problem is either color wheel, DMD board or light engine.
If problem is color wheel it is still widely worth repairing, if problem is light engine, then the part is rather expensive and may be not worth repairing, since the repair cost will get near to $1000.
I suggest calling Samsung and asking a quote on repair.
Color wheel that is most likely the responsible is available here. First the TV must be taken apart to ensure that the problem is effectively the color wheel.
If the display went dark, like with a kind of shadow over the screen, check also that the problem is not caused by a detached mirror in the light tunnel, which is part of the light engine. You can see color wheel right on top of the DMD board, but parts like the inside of light tunnel in the light engine are not easy to access, repairs must be done by a trained person.
