    What is the difference between red (positive) and orange (continuous power?

    Can they be wired together?

Red is positive, orange is continuous power, black is ground.. then just the antenna and mount it

If a inline fuse in a holder the old one will aside from length have the amperage printed on it---very few mobile radios use larger than a 3 amp fuse-----look on metal ends of old fuse if have it for markings like 3ag 3 250---3AG is size, 3 is 3 amp, 250 is max working voltage (120 is fine).

On a Maxon MCB-30 cb radio, there are three wires. Red, Black and Orange. Red and black are the power and ground, but whats the point of the orange wire and what do you connect it to?


Hello stud

The orange wire is for memory retention for the last channel you were on if the red wire loses power as in switched on and off with the car ignition just hook up the orange to a 12 volt source that is on all the time. By the way those are some neat little radios wish I had one.
