Question about Washing Machines

Smart drive MW059 with fault code 3,5,7,8 wont fill starts and stops filling about 6 times then above fault code shown

Hi Todd,Just read your posting.The fault you have is called OUT OF BALANCE SWITCH FAULT.Now the switch is located under the control module which in turn is located under the top panel.To access the control module remove the 2 screws at the back of the machine up top.Once the screws are removed lift the top panel away from the machine gently as the display wiring is still attached.You will now see the gray control module.You should also see a screw holding the control module to the frame,remove it and look under the gray board to the right.You should see a switch with 2 wires attached .Have you or can you borrow an electrical test meter to test the switch for conductivity on the terminals with the wires attached?If there is any corrosion on the switch terminals or the little button does not click positivity when pushed I think the switch will be faulty.You must have conductivity between the 2 wires.Make sure the power is off at the wall before you remove the top panel.If the switch is good then the fault could be you control module.Hope this helps and please reply on how you got on or for further help.Looking forward to your reply.

That sounds like a bad RPS, you would get fault code 130.
130. (10000010) Single Rotor Position Sensor Error
The Motor Control Module has found an error in the pattern received from the Rotor
Position Sensor. Likely causes of this fault are a bad connection on the harness between
the Rotor Position Sensor and the Motor Control Module, or a faulty Rotor Position Sensor.
Primary Source: Wiring.
Action: Check for corrosion on the RAST connector of the Rotor Position
Sensor and the Motor Control Module connector.
Secondary Source: Rotor Position Sensor.
Action: Check the Rotor Position Sensor with an R.P.S. tester. Replace if
faulty.
Tertiary Source: Motor Control Module.
Action: Replace Motor Control Module.
Quaternary Source: Rotor
Action: Ensure the correct rotor for this phase of machine has been fitted.

Hi just read your posting.When the machine stops and starts does it beep and show an error code.This error code will be a series of lights that light up and the machine will beep.On the wash progress line of lights which lights are lit when the machine beeps,Is it the 1st and 6th or the 4th and 8th etc.Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.

Fysher and Paykel smart drive 051. takes ages to start. cold water flow seems ok. takes 2-3 times longer for full cycle. sometimes stops and hot water light flashes. yours, jagrat.


Hi just read your posting.Now what water temp have you selected for wash?Is it cold, warm, or hot?Sounds like a water flow problem to me.The water valves on your model of machine sometimes sound like they are filling correctly but they only let a little bit of water in.How long does it take to fill your machine and start agitating when you have selected low water level?Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.

Hi just read your posting.Now when the machine beeps a series of lights will light up.They will be in a row of 8 lights.Starting from the left to right which ones are lit.Is it the 2nd and 4th or the 1st and 6th ---etc---?Please reply with additional information and I can help you rectify this fault.

Machine wont fill


If you hear a valve or relay opening and closing (a small click), then check both of your hoses for signs of internal collapse and while they are off, clean the screens you may find in both ends.

If you see nothing amiss, open both of your feed faucets to make sure it is not a problem with the water supply itself.

f is fill fault to much or not enough water or water in the sump white plastic base the f code will not go away until you solve the problem when the f code shows up the drain motor will run all of the time
