Why is this happening?

Check the wall socket with another electric gadget. Check your washer plug fuse. Finally open up the rear (after taking the washer power cord off the wall of course!) and disconnect and reconnect all wires and connectors one by one. Possible it could just be a loose connection somewhere. Sometimes happens due to vibration.

Go to Control Panel, select Add or remove user account, select The User Name with the Password, under Administrator or Guest acccounts. You can change the User Name and Password. I hope thise Fix it.

Try going to a technician to know what really happened. Don't try to plug it again, since you said you smelled something burned. Best is if you let the technicians do it. They it better than we do.

Before the system boots, hit F10 or DELETE to access the BIOS. Then scroll to RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS, and save by entering F10.

-Connect your router to the wall and connect your laptop to the router using a cable.
-Use Internet Explorer and type the following line in the address bar: http://192.168.0.1
-You should see a Username and Password Screen...type admin for the username and leave the password blank, unless of course you did give it a password.
-Next you should see the D-Link setup page with tabs across the top that say Home - Advanced-Tools-Status-Help
-Click on the WAN button on the left side of the screen
-Now you should see the WAN Settings Screen
-Click on "Dynamic IP Address" (You should not use PPPoE)
-Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.
-Now close your browswer and restart your computer.
-You should now be able to access the Internet...through the router cable and wireless

TRY TO REINSTALL AGAIN LET XP MANAGE ITSELF JUST STAY PUT FOR DRIVER AFTER YOU INSTALL THE FULL XP THEN GO TO CONTROL PANEL OPEN SYSTEM THEN LOOK FOR DEVICE MANAGER YOU WERE NOW LOOKING FOR HARDWARE THAT NOT SUPPORTED BY XP OS EVERY ONE HARDWARE THAT YOU SEE THAT NOT PLUG AND PLAY TRY TO UPDATE IT WITH YOUR SAID DRIER CD THAT YOU GET
