Question about Nikon COOLPIX S8000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My Nikon Coolpix S8000 will not turn on. I started using it for the first time this morning and took about six pictures with it, then I removed the memory card in order to upload the pictures onto my computer. When I put the memory card back in and attempted to turn the camera on, it wouldn't work.

Hi,

Make sure you insert memory card correctly, when it is fitted into the memory card terminal it give clicking sound. Second thing you can check battery, Direction of your battery might be wrong (+,_), Check out and put it again. Load new or fully charged battery. Clean your battery terminal with soft cloth. (Might be it will filled with dirt or dust )

Try resetting the camera's options to factory default. I hope I haven't misunderstood your problem.

Nikon coolpix s8100 will not turn on. i have only used the camera a few times, and it was recently charged. is there a manual reset button? or do i need to send the camera back to nikon?

If it won't turn on, you're not going to be able to reset it.

Other than sending it back, the only suggestion I can make is do you have or can you borrow a spare battery. If so, try that. It could just be a failed battery.

I have Nikon Coolpix S80000. It becomes blurry when I use the telephoto lense and for night photos too. What settings should I have it on to avoid this? Anne

You could raise the ISO or better yet, use a tripod. In dim light and when using telephoto, the camera uses a slower shutter speed and any movement from you results in a blurry picture.

My coolpix s8000 will no longer charge, even when plugged into the usb cable.

Have you tried other outlets in your house? If the battery door of the s8000 is open, the charge will not go through. Depending on how much you've been using your camera, you may need to call up Nikon for their support team and ask to get your camera repaired, the battery may be dead and no longer holds a charge.

How do i enhance the depth of field using a NIKON coolpix S8000. I can't get the background to blur

You want to narrow the depth of field. Unfortunately, compact cameras with their small sensors make this difficult. Below is a tip giving pointers to narrow the depth of field as much as possible.

How to upload photos form a nikon coolpix S8000 to my computer ??

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo management program, such as Picasa.
