Question about Bob Mackie Tapco Juice Stereo Power Amplifier J2500, J1400 and J800 Car Audio Amplifier

Open Question

Mackie J 1400 purchased used on eBay was damaged in rough USPS shipping. Three of the fuse board screws were loose in the chassis when received. Channel A both fuses catastrophically blown when turned on. Channel B functions perfectly. Loud Technologies Tech Dept. said there are no component parts available to replace the entire channel. How can the channel be repaired? Who do you recommend can do this repair for me? Much Thanks, Ken Schleifer

I own a Mackie CFX20. It isn't the MKII. The effects are very weak, and they buzz a little when you try to use them. How can I fix them, and is a service manual available?

I would spend some time with contact cleaner, apply it to the switch contacts of any 1/4 inch jacks, and all of the connectors to the effects boards- it will entail some disassembly. Check all chassis ground connections you may have one that is a bit loose, broken, or corroded.

The Mackie support downloads for manuals has 2 sections- you needed to look at the top at the "discontinued products" Where these are.

How do i return items bought ebay

Before you return, make sure you and seller agree and understand all the terms of the return. Even if you know the return policy by heart, confirm it with your seller. Make sure you know exactly what your refund or compensation will be. Most sellers do not refund shipping and handling charges, so don't ask for them, unless you believe the item has been grossly misrepresented. Even then, don't press the issue. Most sellers WILL refund your return cost if they've made a mistake. Even if the item IS misrepresented and you file a claim with PayPal, PayPal will require you to return it at YOUR expense before issuing a refund to you, so you have NOTHING TO LOSE by being polite and coorporative.

PACK YOUR RETURN SAFELY, even if your item is non-breakable. Any poorly packed item could be damaged in shipment. How would a seller know that it wasn't YOU who damaged the item and not the shipper? Even if the seller knows it was the shipper's fault, you have now given the seller the perfect opportunity to reneg on issuing a refund. You always have the option of going to eBay or PayPal for a refund, but your goal is to get your money back, and hopefully your return shipping too, so don't be hasty. In the box with the return include: your name, address and EMAIL, the eBay item number, date you purchased it, what method you used as payment, the amount you expect to be refunded to you, and how you have agreed the refund is to be issued. It makes it easier for the seller to trace and issue a refund, especialy if the seller transacts multiples of identical items.

CONTACT THE SELLER to let him/her know when the return was mailed, via what shipper, and about when it should arrive back. If there is a tracking number, provide that to your seller. If you've created a label through USPS and give USPS the seller's email, USPS will send the seller the tracking number automatically. Easier for everybody. DO NOT send back the item WITHOUT a tracking number. You don't want the seller to claim he didn't get the item back and thus refuse your refund. And if you go to PayPal for the refund, you're screwed. No tracking, means no washy.
FOLLOW-UP in the appropriate amount of time to see if the seller has received the return. If the item has been lost or delayed in shipment, it is YOUR responsibility to track it down. A short email will do: e.g. "Just checking to make sure you got those brown Ferragamo pumps, item number (xxxxxxxxxx) back. Let me know, thanks." Even if the tracking number shows the item has been returned, this is still a good idea. Some sellers get many returns a day and you don't want yours to get neglected.

Once you have received your refund, CONTACT THE SELLER to thank him/her and mention you would appreciate a positive feedback if one has not already been left. Even if you know you'll never trade with your seller again, say you look forward to doing more business. Keep stroking your seller until your glowing feedback is left. Once that's done you can go into eBay's community chat and spread the word about the seller's bad business practices, report to Safe Harbor, or anything else you feel appropriate. You goal is to GET YOUR MONEY and GLOWING FEEDBACK FIRST, before you do anything to get even.

I rec'd a broken item and shipped it back USPS, I am being told UPS has to pick it up which confuses me. Now the seller is sending me nasty emails

HI there!
If you purchased an item which is not as described, you need to file the item not as describe dispute on ebay and i strongly suggest that you need to file it within 45 days since the day that you purchased it or you will no longer be able to file it.
it could be that the seller filed a damage complaint with usps and that is the reason why usps is going to get it back from you but if you have tracking when you sent it back, just include the tracking number in the case that you will file and you need to contact ebay to inform them about this.. i have here the ebay phone trick and just click the link below to get to my trips and tricks.

Goods not delivered

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

You will need to file a complaint with Paypal and eBay to get a refund. On eBay, go to the listing and click on, have not recieved, it is a flag near shipping.

Once done there, go to Paypal account and file refund request next to transaction. Important that you do both as eBay will check to see if you have filed with Paypal and vice versa.

Hope this helps!

Remove the three screws from the main chassis than release up the two chassis lock on the right and left hand side than slide out you might have to move the DM module on the left side to get the chassis out.

Sounds like the Thermal Fuse inside is blown unscrew the 2 screws on bottom of the cooker you should see a small 2.5 inch insulation wrapped wire leaving a ceramic mounting block to one of the element poles. Now you take off the nut and unscrew it from the pole. Cut off the insulation and underneath will be a Thermal Fuse. If you have a Ohm Meter or a continuity tester attach each lead to either side and it probably will test negative. Part # is written on the Thermal Fuse. Probably a

There is a guy on ebay who does that repair service on the Pioneer AVH models. I thinks its $100 and change for the service plus shipping costs. Not a bad deal, beats going Pioneer! Check the circuit boards for loose screws. The chassis is used as ground and a bad connection could be the cause.
