Assuming it's the proper model, it goes into the connector under the lower cover on the left side of the camera (away from the handgrip) marked "GPS." The connector is also used for the GP-1 GPS unit, thus the marking.

How do I get the nikon ML-L3 to work for D90 camera

Set the camera to one of the remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the camera when you push the button on the remote, just as if you were pushing the shutter release button on the camera. The delayed response remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the camera.

How to use remote shutter release HRN280

First, you need an adapter to fit the HRN280 to the D90. You can order this adapter by emailing sales@hahnel.ie .

Using the adapter, connect the release to the jack in the side of the D90. After that, simply use the button on the release the same way you use the shutter release button on the camera. Press it halfway to focus and meter, press it all the way to take a picture. In addition, the remote has a slide lock so you can take continuous pictures or use the bulb setting.

How do I set my D90 to use my ML L3 remote?

You need to set the camera's release mode to one of the remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

To change the release mode, hold down the release mode button on the top of the camera (marked with overlapping rectangles) and turn the main command dial on the back of the camera.

Full details are in the "Release Mode" section of the manual (page 64 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from

Set the camera's release mode to one of the two remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

To set the camera's release mode, press the [info] button to display the information screen. Press the [i] button to put the cursor into the information display. Use the direction keys on the multiselector to highlight the release mode (fourth item from the top, along the right edge of the screen) and press [OK]. Use the direction keys to highlight the desired mode and press [OK].

For further information, please refer to the "Release Mode" section in the manual (page 65 in my copy of the manual).

Set the camera's release mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the release, while delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

To change the camera's release mode, hold down the release-mode button to the right of the LCD panel on the top of the camera (marked with the overlapping rectangles) and turn the command wheel on the back of the camera. Nikon d90, blinking "Error"

You "release the shutter" by pressing the shutter release button, often called the shutter button. That's the button you press to take a picture :-)

The camera may or may not return to normal after that. If it doesn't, remove the battery, then put it back in and turn the camera on again. Try removing and reattaching the lens (with the power off). If the problem persists, have a certified Nikon tech look at it.

I have selected the continuous high and low speed modes option but my Nikon D90 still only takes 1 photo at a time. Any ideas?

There is a memory card loaded and you are holding down the shutter release, right?

Do you have the delayed release mode turned on? What's your shutter speed? What're your AF settings?

Make sure you're using the right connector and have it plugged into the bottom port of the D90. Make sure the D90 is NOT set to one of the remote shooting modes.
