Hi,

E13 error code is usually about cleaning the fuel filter.cleaning the fuel strainer will easily solve the problem.Check page 23 in the manual.I have attached the manual below. It could be a dirty fuel filter or the small strainer located inside of the heater that is restricting the fuel flow. Also by the flame rod being dirty or touching the burner ring. fuel filter It is on lower right hand side.Check the manual diagram for where it is located.

My daughters 2400 kerosene monitor will light, burn for about 2 to 3 minutes and then go out. The flame starts as a nice blue then goes to orange then looks red and goes out. Please help!

Susan, I suspect you have air in the lines, you will probably have to bleed line at pump. 2nd link explains how to.

Gas smells of kerosine

I have the same issue. According to the furnace repairman the duct for the fan inside the unit is rusted out causing it to burn very dirty and produce that smell. In my case the furnace needs to be replaced. Hopefully you're more lucky than I. Hope this helps

Check your filter in the fuel line outside if you have one. Also check the strainer in the fuel sump.

Lights and runs for 30 seconds then goes out and trips overload switch

Check to see if the pump is leaking some where. Then clean the pump out if there is no leak. Are you burning kerosine?K 1 will give you no problems, but diesel will cause a lot of problems, some reddy heaters can burn both, and some you can not,so look at the warnings.

We have a monitor 2400 kerosene heater, it will start up and after a few minutes at most it shuts down and starts beeping and many times has a message "error 13"

Next time you try to start the unit listen to the pump on the lower right side of the unit. Just before the E13 message if you hear a thumping noise, you have a fuel problem. If you don't hear a thumping and there is a flame you have a problem with the inside of the burner. I would say since it's a 2400 you have a fuel problem. Low fuel, no fuel, dirty filter or blocked flue pipe.

make sure the high voltage lead to the sparkplug isn't touching anything metal on its way to the plug. the clicking may be the high voltage discharging to a metal part, not the plug. those wires age during use.
