Question about Bose Lifestyle 12 System
To start the Lifestyle has two parts that are independently powered. If there is no power to the acoustimass (subwoofer), and there is voltage in power cord, then the internal power board in the sub woofer is shot.
If the music centre (the one with DVD) has no power, but the adapter has regular voltage, then:
If there is no power at all, the music centre is faulty. Problem is in the initial circuit connected directly to input. There are a couple of resistors directly on DC line that may fuse. The connector pins may also break.Testing is done at component level.
If the music centre has led on, then the problem is often the data cable from acustimass. If there is any problem with cable and connectors the music centre will stay in standby and not start to prevent eventual damage.
