After removing the rear panel i saw the blower belt disconnected. it took me some time to get the belt on but everything is ok and the air is venting and clothes getting dried. Also note that the little pulley came off its positio too.

Clothes remain wet after multiple times through drying cycle; the "AF" warning lamp is on as well.

AF= Air Flow: there is a restriction; check to make sure that the lint screen is clean, and that the door seal is in place and the vent isn't obstructed, just disconnect the vent and run the dryer, if it clears its the vent tube if not feel the back of the dryer with it running should feel hot/warm air continuous, if not feeling a lot of air, the you will need to take the dryer apart and clean all the lint off. if all checks out good then the control board. Hope this helps Tim

Dryer gets hot but clothes come out wet. I cleaned the vent tube and outside and they are clear(there was a lot of stuff in dryer hose), is the clog internal to dryer? How do I get it clear?

I would disconnect the vent tube and run the dryer, if it dries then the vent tube is still restricted. To clean the inside out you will need to remove the door, here is a website that will assist you, Tim:

Dryer not drying clothes, have had a small load in for over 2 hours still wet....

Hello s cissy. If the clothes are hot but not getting dry you probably have lots of lint accummulated in the vent pipe which is stopping the wet air from escaping to the out-of-doors. To solve this pull out the dryer, unplug it and then disassemble the vent pipe from the lower back of the machine. Clean out the inside of the pipe and the interior of the machine where the pipe connects.

If the clothes never get warm to hot, then you most likely will have to replace the heating element. Get back if that is the case and we can talk you through that repair. Joe

Hi, My Simpson maxidry 456 dryer, heats up and appears to work, gets hot and cuts out. It is steaming the clothes but does not dry them. Would this be a fan problem, How can i fix it? Ta!

9 out of 10 times this is going to be a restriction in your vent line. Check where it goes outdoors and see if there is a steady flow of warm air. If not, take the vent off of the wall behind the dryer and either have a handyman snake it clear to the outside or take a leaf blower and blow it clear. A good way to test for a restriction before doing all of this is to run a cycle with the vent disconnected from the back of the dryer. The steam is a result of the hot wet air from the clothes having nowhere to go. Good luck =)

AF Code flashes briefly; Clothes don't dry - vent clear

Remove the back of the dryer and chek the lint filter area from the lint catching filter to the exhaust tube. There is a blockage in airflow even though you feel the air at the exhaust there still insn't enough air flow to allow the proper drying of the clothes. This symptom that you gave clothes being hot but not dry the only cause for this is improper air flow

My dryer is saying to check filter but the fileter is clean, the vent hose in the back is clear and it is still not drying the clothes. The dryer is putting out heat, but the clothes are still wet after a...

There is a restriction in the dryer venting system. If the moisture is not removed from the dryer thru the moisture vent then the clothes will get hot but not dry. You will need to remove the vent hose at the back of the dryer and look inside the vent pipe and see if it is restricted with lint. You might need to reach up inside the vent with your hand and pull out the lint. Also some of the newer dryers have a fan assisted venting system and if the fan stops working that can cause this issue.

My electric dryer gets hot but the cloths are not drying

Please check your dryer venting, all of it, or at least as much as you can. I would start at the discharge outside. May be full of lint, covered by plants. or a bird may have built a nest inside. If air is not flowing through the dryer and to the outside clothes get hot but stay wet. Is the case of the dryer hot? Another indicator your vent needs to be cleared. This should be done before you run the dryer again, or you could cause thermal fuses and other little gizmos to break.
