Get rid if that piece of **** and buy another brand all together. Mine started doing the same thing at 3 months old and I couldn't get any help with the problem from Frigidaire or the store where it was purchased. If anyone from Frigidaire is reading this and would care to help out by standing behind your product my e-mail address is If not then I'll keep slamming your products and refuse to purchase any either. Your company has very poor technical help. A don't care attitude would pretty much sums it up.

Kenmore stackable laundry center dryer model 417-99570140 - drum seems loose and some clothes have grease or burn marks like they are getting caught. I am not sure how to fix this problem.

repair can be done at home, sounds like either the drum bearings are worn or the rollers are worn/missing/broken allowing the drum to move inappropriately. This is an indepth repair, so if you are not comfortable with it, call in a pro.

Making thumping noise and burning clothes

You list no brand or model so an answer must be somewhat vague. A loose drum causes the noise described while it also allows air to leak from outside the normal air flow path causing erratic high/low temperatures contributing to burning. Sometimes clothes can also get caught in the gaps caused by the tub moving excessively which causes tears, pinches and rips in clothing. Most dryers will have rollers and/or glides to carry the weight at the front of the drum. Check to determine if these are worn, loose or broken. A few models carry all the weight at the rear of the drum (Frigidaire and some GE) so check the rear bearing for excess wear and replace as needed. It's always a good idea to also clean debris and lint from inside the cabinet while the dryer is disassembled for repairs.

I have a whirlpool wed5520sq0 dryer the drum seems to be pinching cloths and making marks on them. The drum has a gap on left side looking into the dryer. I can move it and close the gap. Any ideas would...

Sounds to me like either the seals on the front and back of the drum are worn or the glides for the drum are worn and is causing the clothes to get caught between the drum and the usually the
front edge of the dryer. The worn glides will cause the gap that you mention.

Clothes, fabrics are coming out of dryer with burn marks

If those marks are little brown marks/they do look like burn marks but your cloths are being pinched by the front and rear felts on the drum//to test that take a white rag reach in to dryer at the edge of the drum front and rear rub the rag// you may have to push it between the drum and the dryer housing you will get brown marks that is rust///If you replace front and rear drum glides (seals) that will cure the problem I would price parts first as sometimes replacement is a lot cheaper.......Hope this helped....If I did please vote If you need more help please ask...Good luck

Drum not turning properly

Check the belt and see that it is not worn down, kind of like a fan belt on a car. You may want to replace it anyway. next, the motor be be loose from the frame it is fastened to. Feel the surface of the drum for any grooves or worn places. There may be build up of debris. You can take off top of dryer to gain easier access to the drum.

Parts of clothes get stuck in edge of dryer...seems to burn them.

I have had this same problem with my stack-able dryer. It was leaving small burns on my kids clothes and my good sheets. My dryer has a felt-like seal at the front of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, the clothes in the dryer can get caught and scorched or torn in the space between the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. My seal was worn out, so I needed to replace it. I had someone come in and do the work the first time but when it wore out again I just order the part and replaced it myself. It is fixable:)

Frigidaire dryer gets clothes caught in between the drum, and body of dryer

Just did this today! The brown marks are the felt that is around the part that suspends the drum. It has probably been making a rubbing noise for awhile? The mechanism that supports the drum and allows it is spin is called a bushing This is no longer balancing the drum properly so it is rubbing against the felt and wearing the felt down. The brown marks are burnt felt rubbing off onto the clothes. Get a new bushing assembly and either a top and or bottom felt replacement kit. Replace all worn felt! The top felt has either two or three plastic gliders on it as well. It has been an all afternoon job for me. A second pair of hands is also helpful so long as you are not married to them! Good luck...(I paid $90.00 for a top felt, bottom felt, and a whole brand new bushing unit.)
