Kenwood KAC-8103D 1000 watt issues

I blew a speaker not too long ago. I replaced the speaker yesterday. Plugged it into the Amp. Turned on the stereo and noticed that the speaker wasn't working. I looked at the Amp and the Power light is flashing on and off and on and off.... Did I ruin my Amp? I checked all the fuses... they're all good. What to do now? Please help

Apparently it won't let me log in. Anyhow... I'm pushing voltage. The light is flashing, not flickering. How can I replace the transistors?

It is a "flashing" not a flickering and it is pushing voltage. what next?

The speaker may have shorted and caused the output transistors in the amp to fail. This is fairly common. It can be repaired.

Flickering is different than flashing. Before you do anything, confirm that you have at least 11v DC on the B+ and remote terminals. Place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp when measuring the voltage.

I need to know the wattege of a kenwood kac -624

The KAC-624 is a 40 watt x2 @ 4 ohm RMS amp. 55 watt x2 @ 2ohm. 110 watt x 1 Bridged I assume at 4 ohm. Manual does not specify. It can run 2 ohm in stereo mode but is unclear on mono impedance requirement. It can run 4 ohm mono at 110 watt but at 2 ohm?

Check your fuse. Also make sure all your wiring and terminals are correct and not loose.

I need an appropriate speaker for my kenwood amplifier kac-5202

This amp is stable down to 4 ohms bridged at 120 Watts or 2 ohms stereo at 60 Watts X 2. If you are going with the bridged mono hookup just make sure the impedance of your subwoofer is no less than 4 ohms. A good rule of thumb is to be at least double of what your amps rated output power is. So if your amp can put out 120 Watts into 4 ohms then get at least a 240 watt subwoofer.

Do not exceed the rated load for your amp, you will damage it. Here is the datasheet for your amplifier

My kenwood KAC-7204--- the wiring is hooked up right, I just got a 2000 watt max sub 1000 watt rms, i was running the amp in bridge mode and it ran for 1 day than it turned off. I checked it and the fuse...

when i was running my sub off bridge mode this kept happening to me. I ended up just running two subs and for some reason the fuse stopped blowing. i think there is something wrong with these amps.

Does the unit have power? Check the RCAs from the stereo; are they connected. Check the speaker wires; are they connected?

Kenwood KAC-8401 light goes from blue to red when turned on

Either the amp is ad or the sub got shorted? You can check itby disconnecting the Sub and seeing if the amp comes on blue then. If yes, then the sub is shorted. If no, then the amp is shorted. Also chck the voltage AT THE AMP. Make sure that it is above 12 Volts.

Transistors

If it's only 2 months old, it should be under warranty. Have you tried to get it repaired under warranty?

Any car audio repair shop should be able to repair it.

If you want to repair it yourself, it's possible but you'd need basic test equipment and soldering/desoldering tools.

The following page shows you the basics for amp repair. Your amp is somewhat different than the one shown but the troubleshooting/repair procedure would be similar.

Amp Turns on... then off

unplug all speakers and see if it still into protect .If unit powers up normally without speakers , then hook up a temporary speaker directly to speaker out to see if you have output. If it works .Then check speaker cables and speakers for shorts. Also make sure you have good ground and main power and standy are present.
