Ibm bios reset password

If you can access the small round "watch battery" via a cover then pull that out to try to "lose" the password setting and go to default. Sometimes works.

How do i change the screen from vertical display to horizontal

The IBM ThinkPad Z61t computer runs the Windows operating system. Normally, Windows is displayed on a monitor in a manner that makes it easy to read. If you want to change the screen display configuration (from vertical to horizontal), modify the screen display properties in Windows itself. This process causes the computer to rotate the image displayed on the screen by 90, 180 or 270 degrees, depending on the setting you choose.

1.Right-click on an empty portion of the Windows desktop on the Z61t.

2.Click "Properties."

3.Click "Display."

4.Click "Change display settings."

5.Click the "Orientation" drop-down window. Select the "Landscape" option to make the screen display items in a horizontal manner.

My Z61T will not power on

Hi and welcome to Fixya!

If the machine is not powering either with the battery and / or just the adapter, there could already be a hardware problem for your machine. If it is still within warranty, I suggest you contact Lenovo Warranty support on this number - 1 877 453 6686.

Their courteous and knowledgeable reps would certainly help you.

Hope this helps!

My thinkpad 2628 wont recognize my hard drive and tells me i dont have a operating system on it

This means it has crashed. You will need to use your recovery disk that came with the laptop to re-install Windows and the system drivers.

Hi, the standard reset solution for laptops is to remove AC power and battery then hold down the power button for one minute to clear the memorys. In my experience this only works for a limited number of laptops. The alternative is to open up the laptop and remove the cmos battery overnight which works in most cases. If this is a modern IBM and reading between the lines you are asking this question in order to clear a bios password then neither method is likely to work, worth a try anyways tho.

Hope this helps

I have a lenovo z61t it often overheats and shuts down. how can i trouble shoot the fan? are there any fixes for this?

With something as small as a laptop, and with something as small as a laptop fan, troubleshooting is easy. You should easily be able to hear the whirring of the fan if it's running, especially if it's hot. If you don't hear it, it isn't working.
