Question about Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera
I have the S1 IS that had always worked perfectly - until I needed it at my child's performance last night. The image on the display and through the viewfinder (my preference) looks like blurry vertical streaks. I can review photos on the card just fine.
I recently found this link helpful. I returned my camera via their process, and was later sent a letter saying they would be repairing my camera barring any internal damage found to be caused by dropping or water damage. The very next day I received a new (refurbished) camera from Canon. They sent me the powershot S50 IS. Follow through on the process... there are more problems with the cameras distributed here in the U.S. than what they though. Wish I could find a site that would show me real comparisons of my old camera which I loved to this newer version...

The screen on your camera could be damaged.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service
