What does that have to do with my telephone company? Uninstalling it would only work if there was no communication between the modem and the computer itself. The problem starts from the modem, not the computer.

Phone your tel company and ask them to check your phone line for faults. Then check your leads or replace them.Uninstall the modem and reinstall it through the disc that came with it.

If the receive light is blinking iregularly then it's receiving the signal,if it's a regular blinking it's not set up properly or the signal isn't strong enough. You should still uninstall the router and then install with the disc. You've got to try these things don't just assume. If you've set up correctly there shouldn't be any problems. All the led's on my router was working correctly, but it turned out there wasn't enough signal through the cables so I had to use wireless.

I have a motorola sb4200 cable modem that was working just fine until 3 days ago the power light is steady and the send and receive lights alternative in blinking and being steady none of the other lights...

Thank you for the detailed information. Not having internet can be frustrating! If the "Online" light is not turning on, that means it is not obtaining an IP address from your internet service provider. Since the "send" and "receive" lights are blinking, this means the coaxial cable (Tv cable) is screwed in.

I would suggest finding a phone number for your internet service provider to assist you further. There may be a service outage in your general area, or there may be a localize issue. They may have to go through troubleshooting with you over the phone, so you may have to unplug the modem, and maybe even bypass the Netgear router to troubleshoot with them. If the issue cannot be resolved over the phone, they may need to send out a repair man to resolve your issue.

Online light blinkin in motorola sb4200

1- Disconnect the power at the back of the modem.
2- Disconnect the internet cable at the back of the modem (the cable from the wall to the modem).
3- Wait at least 2 minutes.
4- Connect the internet cable back.
5- Connect the power cable back.
6- The lights on the front of the modem should start turning on one at a time; the top one first, the second one next...

If the on-line light still blinks, you might want to repeat the steps above after shutting down your computer. Turn on your computer if the on line light is OK (not blinking).

If all fails, call your internet service provider (ISP) to see if the service itself is down for maintenance, or if there is a problem with high-speed internet in your area.

If you have a router, you might want to power it off before trying the steps above. Turn it back on when the on line light is OK.

Usually, I call my neighbor who has the same ISP to see if their internet is down, before I call the ISP company.

Hope that helps.

It could be your modem HFC MAC ID is not register with your local cable tv company. You may need to call your cable provider to register your cable modem on their networks.

Receive, send, and activity lights are all blinking but online light is off

Power Cycle the modem if the 4 lights do not go solid you would want to contact your cable provider to ensure signal is being received properly to modem.
