Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

"SUD" comes up and later code F35 appears and the book says to press stop twice to cancel the cycle and select drain & spin but nothing happens. No matter what I try the SUD and F35 appears and the stop button does nothing. I have only use Tide HE I use the clean cycle often so it shouldn't be a build up problem. The washer is about 4 years old

Hi,

Both of these fault codes point to a pressure switch issue. If you remove the top panel, three screws in the back, you will have access to the pressure switch. With the tub empty, remove the vinyl hose from the switch and blow backwards through the hose to clear any restrictions. If the fault codes return after doing this, you will likely need to replace the pressure switch.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Sud error is displayed when the washer is unable to drain, press PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the display. After this please check the drain hose and drain pump filter for any blockages and make sure it is not clogged with foreign particles. You can also check the drain pump to verify that its working. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

What does it mean if the washer is not draining and has a flashing f where the time shows?

I have the manual for this machine. Under "Code 21" it says the following:
"F21" (Drain Problem) Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following: Is the drain hose kinked? Is the drain hose frozen? Is the drain hose clogged? Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor? Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
For "SUDS" code, the following:
"SUD" (Suds Routine) When excessive suds are detected, a suds routine automatically starts. This routine removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. "SUD" is displayed during rinsing to inform you that Suds Routine was activated. Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergents.
Here is some more information that may help you as well:
"F" Codes other than F20, F21 and F22 Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
I hope this is of some help to you, Please rate and comment, Thank You

I have an HE 5T Steam Front Loading Automatic Washer. It is showing Sud indication, nothing seems like happening and after few minutes it will show F35. What does it mean?

Hello again,
I found your manual. If you like to get it, go HERE. This is what it says about "SUDS" action:
"SUD" (Suds Routine) When excessive suds are detected, a suds routine automatically starts. This routine removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. "SUD" is displayed during rinsing to inform you that Suds Routine was activated. Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergents.
Near the bottom of the troubleshooting page, it gives this for errors:
"F" Codes other than F20, F21 and F22 Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
It doesn't specifically state what "F35" is, so I can only suggest these steps, and see if this solves your problem. If it doesn't I would be inclined to believe that there is a problem with a part, which would probably be serviceable by a tech from Sears or their partner service company.
Hope this clears it up for you.
Please rate and comment. Thank You
Joe
