Replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
good luck

Is it an SATA drive? If you have more than one SATA connector on the motherboard, try switching connectors. See if that fixes the problem

Not ditect SATA HARDISK

Hi
I know what is problem, some of mother is made only SATA HDD data transfer rate 1.5 GB per second. Now all are SATA HDD data read rate 3 up to g GB per second .Follow the instruction label on the hard drive.
If you use your Motherboard 3GB data read hard drive you can customise setting jumper source of data rate 1.5 then MSI Motherboard detect SATA hard drive.
Good Luck.

Pc will not boot, it can not see hard drive. tried new hard drive but no good. The hard drive works in other computer. the hard drive can not be detected in BIOS.

Try switching the eide ribbons from the CDrom to the hard drive. Sometimes, the computer tries to read the cdrom as the primary and the hard drive as the slave. I generally just leave the CDrom out, place the hard drive in with ribbon and let it register in bios.

Hard drive and cd drive not recognized

In this case if your laptop runs occasionally sometimes not. The prom the is the faulty cable which is connected to the HDD and CD drive. Try to replace the connector cable with the other one. Check also the BIOS setting of the HDD and CD drive.

Ilunable to read from hard drive or cdrom from p4i65g

Try changing the IDE cable which connects your CDROM to motherboard. Also make sure that Master/slave configuration are properly set if both the hard disk and the cdrom are connected with a single cable

845 GLLY Maximum Hard disk support

Try first to reformat the 40 GIG hard drive that you have since it still detected under BIOS so hopefully that can still be reformatted and still work after that, but if still have the same problem this 40GIG hard drive may have alot of bad sectors already , Sorry to say but the 200 gig of sata drive wonto work for this motherboard since it doesn't support SATA drive , you can get a 1600GIG of IDE drive for this, this is teh complete specs of your motherboard
